just clarifying; my post wasn't a dig on JA; moreso how my roommate drinks almost exclusively (minus Lagunitas sometimes, Trillium, Night Shift, and hauls from Craft Beer Cellar) JA and Ballast Point as his 'go-to'.
I hear the interior is all new? My roommate gets growlers from there all the time, but I haven't been. Ballast Point has been my go to lately. There is place near me where you can make your own and I've been throwing in a lot of BP.
Yeah, we were only there for a weekend, but we dug all the great food places, especially Duckfat and Nosh. And I LOVED Cape Elizabeth
My wife has been wanting to go visit up there and see if its a place we'd consider moving to at any point. We know some people that moved up there and loved it, and we drive by it whenever we head up to Acadia but haven't actually stopped yet. Looking forward to seeing what it's like!
Creeped on your posts a bit, but I saw your band open for Stephen Malkmus last year. Enjoyed you guys.
Oh, Thanks! I appreciate that. That was an overwhelming night. We got asked to do that the afternoon before and we had to move a bunch of stuff around to make it work. We all work full time and its tough getting our schedules to match up, so we hadn't actually all played together in a couple months at that point. We went in with about 20 minutes of practice from that afternoon. Haha. Either way, it was still one of the highlights of my life. I felt incredibly lucky to be a part of it.
Actually just creeped on your posts a bit too and I felt like I could have been reading my own. Haha I am also digging the new Radiohead song, am currently training for my next half marathon in June, and also work in Data/Analytics for a healthcare company.
Well congrats! Good to hear you guys are still playing every now and then. Did you get to meet Malkmus at all? I was right up front. He said something to me during the show and I think I responded with something that made sense? Not entirely sure though. Wow, that's really funny. What half are you doing? I'm doing the Run to Remember in Boston on Memorial Day Weekend.
Oh yea. We try and play as often as we can. Not as often as I'd like, but we get by. Writing a new record right now, so hopefully more stuff this summer. We did get to meet him. I thought I'd be too scared but we got invited into their greenroom after and got to hang out with them all for a bit. At one point him and I were just talking about both being named Stephen and I just kept thinking, "Holy fuck, I am talking to Stephen Malkmus right now!!!!". They were all super nice and took one of our CD's at the end of the night too. It was very very cool. I'm doing the Mayflower Half down in Plymouth on June 12th. I've run one half before, which was really tough. I had some IT band issues right before the race, so I was in a lot of pain by the end of it. I'm much more prepared this time around though. It should be nice as it goes along the water for parts of it. I'm pretty excited.
Oh nice. Funnily enough, I was actually looking to do that one as well, but I'm out of town that weekend. I wanted that beer stein, as it's not something you get as a race giveaway. But yeah it should be a nice course once you get out of the industrial park, haha.
I've only had their burgers once before, and it wasn't too bad. They're bar downstairs is nice though. It has pool if that's your sorta thing
I've had Tasty Burger once but I dont remember it. I like the nearby Yarde House and Boston Beer Works though
I enjoy Tasty Burger. Love the Yard House! Beer Works is okay, never been impressed with the food, though.
That is one Tasty Burger......I love the Yard House though. Big fan of The Avenue in Allston for a good cheap burger.
I'm not a huge tasty burger fanbut it's cool that they're local dudes (I think?) and have stands in fenway. But for that kind of burger I think Flat Patties and Shake Shack blow them out of the water and they're both basically across the street from the Harvard Sq location.
