I love Anchorman 2 and I remember it killed with the audience in theaters as well. I didn’t know there was hate towards it until I started seeing it mentioned as a bad comedy sequel online.

The outtakes alone from Anchorman 2 are wholesome content.

“In a comedy landscape where Dan Crenshaw is invited on SNL to shake hands with Pete Davidson and lecture us about civility, it’s refreshing to see a movie that recognizes a dystopia when it sees one. I just wish Cohen’s analysis was a little more incisive than, “Wow, how did this happen?”

This was fine. A few funny parts but too much felt staged or set up. It probably would have been more enjoyable to see in the theater.

Yeah was kinda 50/50 on this. A lot of it seemed fake, but like others said the daughter was good. Also enjoyed the synagogue segment

I enjoyed this, had a couple moments that had me cracking up, but overall didnt quite scratch the same itch as the first one, or even Who Is America, did for me. Not sure why... gonna have to think on that. Did love the bits with the holocaust survivor and babysitter, and everything with the roommates was hilarious

Sucks, and it seems like a misunderstanding of the film's intent. But I'm sure that'll be the first of many lawsuits. Dude probably has come to expect them by now lol.

I want to know how he ended up staying with those 2 guys for a week and also how he explained having a very good disguise to put on to go to the rally.

SBC on Colbert shows a clip of him escaping the alt right rally and talks living with the two guys for 5 days

The holocaust is a weird thing when it comes to humor. There are a lot of people who say there is nothing funny to mine from it. I think that this film does have a point about holocaust denial, and maybe it takes it a little too far, but I found that scene endearing. The women in the synagogue presented themselves much better than anyone else in the film. It was heartfelt, despite Borat's call for lols.

If anyone is interested, this is one of my favorite documentaries. Gives perspective from survivors, comedians, and most importantly, Mel Brooks on how to approach humor from one of the lowest points of human history. Looks like it is also streaming on Prime.

Yeah I never once got the sense the babysitter was in on it, I was frankly surprised people thought she was.

I was pulling for her to be real. Everything is such a shitshow all the time and watching her interactions in the film had me hoping this kind soul was genuine lol. What a year.

She was the most believable part, tbh

There’s something magical about the realest person being the one with the most moving and compassionate lines.

Misread the article at first and thought the pastor was asking for money, lol. Cool that she's real, and I'd like to believe that her dialogue in the film is genuine and not manipulated by production.
