I've seen too many people act like the teacher hooking up with the student wasn't a big deal because he's 18 or whatever. just so extremely inappropriate, that plotline was a big ol yikes.

 

That subplot should never have made it into the film. The tonal issue of shifting between ultra realistic and super surreal is one thing, but that just should not have happened and brings it down for sure.

 

I found this to be incredibly realistic, personally.

I see Kaitlyn has one too but for Unbelievable

 

Kaitlin is so good in unbelievable but I hope that goes to Merritt Wever because she is so good in that too.

 

They were both great, but it will be a crime if Michelle Williams doesn’t take that one.

 

So glad to finally see this. The Uber scene is one of my favorites of the year.

 

Molly and Amy are going to lose it

finally just saw this last week. loved 95% of it - thought it was hilarious.

as a teacher (and just a human being in general???), I thought the storyline of the teacher hooking up with the student was disgusting.

 

Lol yeah what a weird decision to make and go through with to the point of it winding up in the film

 

Watched this finally and yeah I loved it except for that glaring mistake of a choice.

 

At the record store today I was pleasantly surprised to find this, didn’t know it had a physical release

I forgot to add, I just finished “Movies (And Other Things)” by Shea Serrano and he has a whole chapter on why Booksmart is such a special movie

 

I think it really speaks to how good the movie is that he chose to add a whole chapter on Booksmart after the book was finished. So dope.
