It seems like the greatest injustice ever that For Emma could be considered the worst of an artists catalogue. I find it hard to separate For Emma and Bi,Bi as 1, then 22am at 3 and i,i at 4. I also realise that Bi, Bi is a much better record than Emma, I can’t ever downplay what Emma meant to me at the time though
Yeah, this whole comment is how I feel. The first two are masterpieces, the third is very good, i,i is handily the weakest. That record feels like such an overstuffed mess to me.
I agree that there's more "filler" on i,i than on any of his previous records but the highs are so high that I don't care
Speaking of, I’m still trying to sell two tickets to the Pittsburgh show at face value for anyone interested!!
Hopeful for a re-do. Saw them at the same exact venue a few years ago and drunk audience members in the pit ruined the show. Seeing the setlist, it looks like a lot of i,i which I'm not super jazzed on. Hoping they pull out at least 5 songs from the first two albums. I just don't understand 10 death breasts lol. Will probably just try to enjoy the vibe and sounds of the evening.
10deathbreast fucking ruled live. When that sub-bass hits, all my organs were vibrating. The only tracks that I really wish they’d done are 45 and Naeem.
22, A Million Bon Iver, Bon Iver For Emma, Forever Ago i,i I just love his trajectory from the cabin to the fields to frickin' space for 22AM. You also can never tell me that his second album doesn't have a comma in it, the way places do.
Sometimes I see it written as Bon Iver and I'm like "Oh, what's that album? I don't think I've heard that one." Totally a comma.
Catching them live tonight in Pittsburgh at an outdoor venue on a beautiful night. Only my second time seeing em. Ready for the spiritual rejuvenation that it’s sure to be.
