Bon Iver drops new music video, and announces 'reset' with new EP

 

I love my beeps and bloops JV but this...this is my everything.

Every listen makes my eyes water.

 

Great song, excited to be getting new music.

 

Obviously feels very reminiscent of For Emma

Incredible. The video REALLY got me.

 

Lovely song that intensified the incoming Autumn by 1000.

 

I don't think I've ever seen that long a press release for a release this short.

 

The press release makes this EP sound very much like a standalone thing but having no physical version plus this shirt with the inverted cover

 

I'm starting to think that the EP Is meant to be a re-introduction, the start of this new chapter as the press says, and that we will be getting something longer in the future. Would explain no tour plans as of yet, the inclusion of a comma in the EP title, and how much work is going into this release.

 

That SG on the wall, set there as if he's returning a tool to the shed.

Also the shots of him in the water, like a cleansing or baptism.

Don't get me started on the modern-day man in black look, barefoot in the shed strumming his guitar.

 

Yeah based on the way everything is phrased and the effort that has gone into this, this very much feels like just the beginning.

So fucking hyped.

 

Agreed that this is just the re-introduction, and we may get a full album late 2025/early 2026, as these songs were written between 2020-2023. He certainly has been working on more material than that, so I’d be surprised if nothing else is planned. He probably views these songs as a crystallization of his path forward

 

I suspect it may be even sooner than that. Or that maybe we get a tour over the summer as part of the re-introduction, smaller venues, and then it's fall 2025.

 

Just wild to see his face so openly in a "music video" for the first time in the BI career.

I've had a really tough go of things the past few weeks, and these lyrics coming from one of my favorite people on earth cut deeeep. Especially after like two decades of extremely cryptic writing

 

September is always a reflective month for me and it seemingly always gets increasingly so, this song dropping near the end is truly fucking with me. Love how open he is in this.

 

giving it another listen. this is just fantastic in every way, and i'm sure the others will be too

This really reminds me of for emma/blood bank and that is a wonderful gift in 2024
