Day One man, this is some of his best stuff right here. incredible song

 

this is absolutely wild if it's his wife and child, but less wild if it's part of the album theme and rollout or promo or something

edit: goodness, okay From and I’ll Be There. Lots for me to love on this record apparently lol. Did not follow this rollout at all so didn’t know what to expect going in - immediately much more into this than the last one

 

Sable over Fable for me, would love a whole album of the "solo"/stripped back stuff. This didn't grip me on first listen as much as i,i did although I really like the run of Day One, From, I'll Be There.

 

I don't think I'm ready for a happy Bon Iver record.

 

Very impressed with this so far. Love hearing Dijon on Day One

 

From might be the catchiest song he's ever written. Absolutely perfect

 

Wasn’t 100% sold at first, but by the time it got to There’s A Rhythmn I was pretty sold on this record.

Not perfect, but I love that he sounds happy, or at least content, on most of this.

 

Think the Fable side absolutely blows the EP side out of the water

 

agreed totally, Sable just feels like a retread of earlier stuff imo

 

This is excellent. Glad his “happy” voice comes with so much Bruce Hornsby influence still.

 

this thrills me as someone who will barely ever listen to Sable. Such a considerate way to put it all together.

Comes in above i,i but below everything else for me. It's good but didn't totally grab me on first listen. It'll get many more, obviously.

In a sense, yes, but it feels like a purging of his prior self, as if he’s looking past the ego death he suffered on 22,am and is putting the past to rest before moving on

Really enjoyed the first listen, even if it doesn’t immediately stick out. Hoever, it’s his nicest sounding record, something to fill the empty spaces when I’m just…existing. It’s probably going to be a record I turn to when I just want to throw something on.

there’s a rhythm is probably my favorite on first passthrough

 

cristin miliotti has been doing press regularly over the last year for the penguin, she didn’t have a secret baby lol

didn't think of it like this, def an interesting spin on it but I'm afraid those three songs just don't move the needle for me
