Looks like all the song titles are stylized in all caps, which is good because that discrepancy was really annoying me.
The art direction driven by lake fish is amazing lol. need that shirt. Listened through Sable this morning. I haven’t gone back much because it’s too short, but these in the context of a full album will be awesome. I am excited for this album. As a native Wisconsinite I have a soft spot for JV. IMO His first couple Bon Iver releases accomplished what he set out to do with this project and everything from here on out is icing on the cakes I have enjoyed his side projects and features more than i,i. I am happy this release is more stripped back. Think it’s a necessary palate cleanser after all the heavy samples and programmed stuff on the last two. can’t wait to hear the full album. The Sable songs give big time coming out of winter entering spring vibes. Feels like great timing.
I went to the bon iver, bon iver show in milwaukee. After the set we went for a river walk behind the venue and bumped into JV by himself, sweaty in show clothes, ripping a cig and we was the most kind regular ass dude. We chatted for a few minutes before a mob of fans realized it was him and he got stuck taking a bunch of photos. Also saw him at a small theater ending the Volcano Choir tour. Sylvan Esso was the surprise opener right before they blew up. it was magical. Lots of great show memories in Milwaukee before I moved away.
oh man… ive been looking forward to hearing the rest of this song or a finished version since 2021 Spoiler alert but… 4 minutes in
I think this will be my favorite record in a minute from him. Love the vibe and tone so far. Been listening to a bunch of side projects, production, and features today. Dude has such a depth of releases. Love the clip. Matches with the press release they put out yesterday.
John Wilson voice: And sometimes .... all a great song needs ... is some bleeps ..... and .... some bloops.
I don’t know if this is personally what I want from Bon Iver but the song is true to the description.
this is shaping up to be his most accessible work since For Emma and i'm not upset about it (even though 22, A Million is still my favorite of his)
