Saw them last night & it was hands down the best out of the 3 times I’ve seen them so far. (I’m this close to buying a ticket to their 2nd show tonight.) They played the first 8 tracks of the new record in a row, followed by a few from BI, BI and then last two on 22, A Million. Only For Emma songs were Creature Fear & the title track. One of the biggest standouts for me was an acoustic rearrangement of Minnesota, WI. If you’ve got the chance to see this tour, it’s so worth it.
Yeah, it sounded like a classic country song or something. It took me a while to recognize which song it was.
Dang you’re right, it might of been Calgary. I can never remember the names of the songs off that album.
Still don't understand the logic behind having the names of the songs be as they are. I know it's art, but for me it's just really off-putting. Doesn't help either the music itself isn't as good as the self-titled
The titles were jarring for like 5 minutes after I read them and now I could care less. It's a very odd complaint 715 Creeks is a legitimate song title. 715 being the area code for Eau Claire. Do the 2 greek letters really bother people that much?
the self-titled will probably always be my favorite but 33 GOD/Strafford APTS is the best 1-2 punch of the decade fight me
Creeks is probably my most listened to song this year and yeah, I hate it haha. There may be a point to them, I don't particularly care.
I dunno, I care about song titles and feel they hold a certain purpose in attributing certain emotions to music. Titles that are random letters and numbers annoy the hell out of me/keep me from remembering song names/are pretentious. I don't think that's why I didn't like this record as much as his previous ones, but it definitely kept me from recalling individual moments from a record I might have appreciated more if I could've picked the stronger songs from the weaker ones.
None of the numbers in the titles are "random" but okay strange how so many here actively dislike this record
Even though it has some weird production I think the album is very cohesive. I personally think each Bon Iver record is better than the last (and I rate all of them highly)
Yeah. This album being "disjointed" is a valid opinion, but it's also a lazy one. Still waiting for 89. Hoping we get some new tunes in 2018
Sure, those songs aren't bad, but then you have 22 d e a t h b r e a s t XX or whatever it is that's just a bunch of annoying digital drums for 3 minutes and then 715 CREEKS that's just him talking through autotune for 3 minutes. Nothing about this album is coherent or special like this first two. T H I s @ L 8 |_| M S |_| C K S
33 GOD tops my last FM in the past 365 days with 315 plays Creeks is right underneath at 310 does anyone here have tickets to the FEFA anniversary show?
