I was babysitting my nephew and his little lullaby toy kept playing a rendition of Minuet in G which caused me to get a version of it stuck in my head for an entire fucking week without being able to figure out what it was. All I could hear were bits and pieces of a Motown singer in my head. Finally stumbled on it tonight. Anyway, apparently Moonwater samples this but I can't hear it
Since star bumped the thread I guess I'll post these.. In around 1 full month I'll be seeing Bon Iver and co do an extensive John Prine tribute.. I recommend these if you haven't heard them..
Those covers are great. It's crazy how many modern musicians speak to Prine being one of their favorite songwriters, but yet he seems to fly so far under so many peoples radar.
just took the leap on insanely cheap floor tickets for tomorrow. haven't watched any live videos of the new songs yet...i am excited.
saw him in 2012 on the lawn on a beautiful september evening, one of the best experiences of my life. expecting this to be some of the same
This man constantly blows me away. Saw him at Coachella weekend 2 a few weeks ago and I absolutely wasn't expecting to get the set that we did
This song is super cool http://pitchfork.com/news/73726-ani...new-song-zizzing-listen/?mbid=social_facebook
In regards to the live versions of 22AM material, once that Pioneer Works set came out I stopped listening to the studio versions.
Be sure to tell me what you thought! I hope he plays that new version of creeks. Either way, it's gonna knock your socks off.
Me too I'm halfway up under the pavilion, such a better spot than the lawn. Last time I was on the lawn a few frat bros were screaming for Justin to play Skinny Love again, non stop.
First time I saw him was at the Hollywood Bowl waaaay far away but it had the perfect setlist. Then I saw him Coachella weekend 2 5 feet from the barricade which was godly. Both times the crowd sucked lol. At Hollywood bowl there were people that talked the whole time, left the majority of the set to get drinks and then left immediately after skinny love. Who's rich enough to go to a concert just to do that?
very good show. people really love skinny love hahaha we didn't get anything too crazy arrangement wise of the new songs. god was definitely the highlight imo best part of the whole show is that they fucking cranked the bass up high. you could fucking feel it.
Holy fuck... Y'all saw Brackett, WI and Blindsided?!?!? That's pretty rare. Probably the first time he's played Holocene in forever too.
