Meh, my weekend plans changed so I missed it. Only saw short videos on tube.

Do these Coachella sets ever get uploaded?

Rips end up on YouTube, but then they always get taken down. The forums traditionally have full set downloads of the videos available and a lot of people end up chopping up sets into MP3s. Just need to know where to look I guess.

Haven't had a chance to watch the whole thing. The Bon Iver subreddit might have some rips. I'm so fucking pumped to see him at Merriweather in May. Saw him there last time he toured and I remember he said he liked the venue and there was some bog in the woods behind the stage that he liked chilling by. Might have to wander the woods after the show xD

There are links to both the entire ripped HQ video and then a live album cut into tracks and remastered on /r/boniver

It's certainly close to the GOAT Bon Iver set. I had to keep reminding myself it was a festival set. It seemed so personal.

Listening to the audio again now. God DAMN it's so good. Easily the best version of deathbreast I've heard

Coolest version of MOONWATER too. By far

Bon Iver's set at Coachella was one of the coolest yet strangest sets I have ever seen. Thoroughly enjoyed it, but had a ton of WTF.

Set started with 5+ minutes of really loud ambient noises/cracking/screechy with a mostly white background on all screens and some weird black static shapes, then into Deathbrest-Creeks-God in a row, which was obviously fantastic.

They brought out NAO for a really beautiful duet on Michicant

    Played 666 - Circle - Skinny Love

They brought out Amelia from Sylvan Esso for a duet on Flume

    Played Moonwater

THEN it was super duper confusing. The lights all went off and the screens came up to an older man playing a song solo on piano, looked like it was vintage footage honestly. He was singing Don Henley's The End of Innocence, but it was not Don Henley haha. AND THEN it zooms out and he was indeed on stage, Justin sings a little with him. AND THEN fuckin Jenny Lewis was on stage with them singing as well. It was honestly beautiful, but so unexpected. Turns out he was Bruce Hornsby, who I didn't recognize til Justin thanked him.

Then to end the set, he brought out Francis (without The Lights) and everyone together helped sing Francis's "Friends" which was honestly the perfect ending. It was kinda funny because the day before, Francis brought out Justin to sing "Thank You," a song that Justin doesn't even sing on, then Francis did "Friends" solo. Makes more sense that they were saving the duet for the BI set.

TL,DR version: Bon Iver played a great set at Coachella and brought out NAO, Amelia from Sylvan Esso, Bruce Hornsby, Jenny Lewis and Francis (from The Lights)

oh, and someone uploaded an mp3 of the set. No idea the quality, but here: Dropbox - Bon Iver.mp3

EDIT: quality is really good, but it misses the first few songs

He really mixed it up between W1 and W2. Jealous of both.

That set was incredible and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it but I was kinda bummed at the songs that were cut

Also @irthesteve I think you mean 8 (circle), not Moonwater

The video/audio rip from weekend 1 is so good that I often hook it up through my big screen and surround sound from the laptop.

After the a few drinks it feels like I'm there. Seriously can't get enough of that set.

Sounds like he brought the collaborative vibe of EC to Coachella. Glad you got to experience it.

The more I listen to this album the better it gets. It's easy at first to get bogged down by the electronic aspects of it, but he's writing the same beautiful songs he was writing on For Emma, if not more so.

This was a grower even for me, which is saying something. Granted, it took like a whole 24 hours haha.

I was there when it was debuted live. I didn't "dislike" it, I was just very taken aback.

I don't think I'd ever be able to decide between the 3 LPs.

I don't think there's any need, that's what I meant - they're much more linear than the casual listener would realize. "29# Strafford APTS" in particular could be early Bon Iver. His vocals tie the whole project together.
