I can't explain how absolutely intense the bass surrounding "fuckified" was live. That pounding in addition to plenty of mind altering substances nearly made me fall over.
I guess maybe it'll just take more listens, but so far this album has been a underwhelming to me. Way too much production and autotune imo but maybe I'll come around
lol I got one of the top comments on Anthony Ronald McDonald's horrible review of this. The amount of hate I've received from his fan club is ridiculous tho
Ha, I knew someone would say this. It came up in trending on Youtube and for some reason I clicked on it
I thought we were gong to make it through this thread without bringing that turd up. Dude has always disliked JV/Bon Iver to the point where he says things that are literally not true.
Yeah, mine was 40 at my shop in London but paired with the bonus 12" so I was okay with it. Ya Canadians seem to get unfairly screwed with vinyl prices
What is this bonus 12" and how do I know if a copy has it? Going to try to find the record this week and would love to find that one.
It was a separate record altogether bundled in the same plastic so it should be easy to spot! It's a white 12" with the extended versions of Over Soon and Deathbreast
It was $5 at Eaux Claires. I have 3 of them not including the one that came on red vinyl with my preorder.
Grabbed this on vinyl. It's definitely gorgeous. They had the 12 inch separately for like $12 which seemed absurd.
I do agree that some of the mixing is not outstanding on some of the songs, but that's pretty much the only thing I would agree.
count me in the minority that thinks this is his weakest album I feel its his Age of Adz except less adventurous/more compromised also, as I mentioned in the American Footbal thread, I feel a lot of this fractured semi-deconstructed approach was predated by Joan of Arc's The Gap... to be notes, while The AoA and The Gap are the minimal-maxi vs maxi-minimal aproaches, this resides in the middle
