This is my undisputed AOTY but to be fair it was probably going to be before I ever even heard it loooool
The Colour In Anything will likely land in my top 5 though. Along with Cardinal and A Moon Shaped Pool.
nothing is coming close to topping How to Be a Human Being by Glass Animals for me for this year, but this will likely be in the top 10 somewhere. like this a lot more than the rest of the Bon Iver discography.
i havent listened to colour pretty much since it was released, didnt really stick with me at all as a whole.
I've been listening to colour pretty much every week since it's been released. It's long, yes, but I wouldn't cut much. The highs on it are astronomically high. Doesn't hurt that I've seen him twice in the last two months.
That's the thing. I don't really find anything particular to cut, I just find that the album, in one sitting, is too much. I like practically every song on it.
Mural right by Everyday Music in Seattle. In an armored truck and can't get out or I'd get a better pic lol
What really stands out to me is the fact that this album is only 35 minutes, yet it packs such a huge punch. There have been a number of albums this year that are pushing an hour and 15 minutes, but don't come anywhere near to this album's emotional impact. It's a very concise, focus album that says all it needs to say without being redundant or superfluous.
After spending some time with the HQ version, and canning that shitty leak, I can confidently say this is a top 5 AOTY for me for sure. Still not sure if its better than BI, BI.
went to the record store today to pick up the lp (kept slacking on pre ordering and since there was no special edition i figured i'd just wait and buy it in person) and wow, it's absolutely gorgeous.
Still waiting on my LP. The tracking info with USPS doesn't even work.. Ahhh. EDIT: Nevermind, just got it in. It's the greatest thing ever.
