i don’t think brad’s show was successful bc he’s a “big dumb white guy” lol but that also shouldn’t have prevented more people like sohla from having equally successful shows

i watch Brad/It’s Alive because it’s an entertaining show, it’s fun watching him have stupid fun. I don’t understand how that’s comparable in the slightest to trump? Maybe I don’t always want to watch an incredibly talented cook, maybe I want to see some bumbling comedic fool make a bunch of mistakes like i would. That comment just doesn’t sit well with me.

 

I feel like I could find 100 Brad-types to watch that type of content

 

Not the best statement by her, she doesn’t seem to understand why people liked Brad. Bon appetite shouldn’t come back either.

i didnt mean for this to get derailed. part of brad’s “charm” is definitely caricature jersey dude. which is uhh not great. but at the same time, his show requires a good amount of actual “science”/knowledge to pull off. and in the group competition shows, he tended to usually finish near the top. i don’t think he’s remotely as bad/useless as chris.

 

I think his charm is just that he’s a nice guy but yeah he’s definitely knowledgeable too

yeah she did. she doesn't follow him on IG anymore. afaik he never made a statement about everything that went down so she might just be mad about that, but I feel like something else more than that probably happened.

I’ve baked a few of Claire’s recipes from BA and we just made the brioche from her book and I really like her recipes. I think they’re well balanced for desserts and the instructions are detailed but easy to follow. I’m excited she’s doing video and hopefully walking through some of her trickier recipes from her book.
