christina’s post confirmed a lot i suspected, namely that rapaport largely controlled by name only and duckor was a much bigger culprit
Sohla talks about the entire situation in this podcast A Reckoning At Bon Appetit - The Sporkful (I don't know how to embed it properly)
Condé Nast suspends Bon Appétit video editor Matt Hunziker - Business Insider Those seem to have been the tweets in question
I'm a broken record, but someone needs to give the BA team a bucketload of cash so they can just go become the Giant Bomb of BA.
what kind of toxic contract did everyone sign that didn't include compensation for video appearances and must be preventing them from producing their own video content. at this point, being at home, they don't need ba
not super surprising. good for them. rick said he bought a house in mexico. priya is doing stuff with dave chang i think, right?
BA is done (on Youtube, at least for me). Even if they start making videos again with the remaining staff, it won't feel right and I have no desire to support Conde Nast/BA I'll follow the talent to other channels, and I hope they all abandon ship, but nah...fuck bon appetit.
and I'm super surprised Sohla is actually staying with BA, writing for the magazine and website, just not doing videos.
I feel like Brad has enough of a following on his own that he could start his own series apart from BA/CNE.
Brad's radio silence on this has been very disappointing. Claire was well but she was only freelancing for them in the first place. Regardless, you'd think they'd say something in solidarity for the others.
