Fuck, that ending of the last episode. Like, after multiple seasons of bad things happening, it was nice to see thing end on a good note.
Just finished the season so I can come back to this thread now lol. -Would say I enjoyed seasons 2 and 3 quite a bit more, but that shouldn't take away from this being a very strong season in its own right. I think 2 and 3 were better for both the more serious, "holy-shit" type plot lines and the laugh-out-loud comedic aspects, and 4 was more nuanced in its storytelling but in a way I didn't find as immediately compelling. I plan on doing a rewatch soon though so this could change. The middle of the season in particular kind of dragged for me. -I really did like diving into the anatomy of Bojack's upbringing through Beatrice periodically throughout the season. Eps 2 and 11 were the standout episodes from an artistic standpoint in the vein of Fish Out of Water and Downer Ending. -As others have mentioned, the Princess Carolyn story-arc was great. -Ending of 12 was great for both the Bojack and Mr. PB/Diane storylines, particularly the latter. -Underground episode probably is my favorite of the season. -Todd had my least favorite arc of all the characters. Hoping he gets more of a Princess Carolyn-esque boost in season 5
Yeah I was hoping Todd would have a better storyline after how amazing his storyline was last season (especially how it culminated) but I'm content with what we got.
I am genuinely saddened by the fact that character actress Margo Martindale didn't make an appearance this season. I was hoping she'd escaped the pasta.
Episodes 6 and 11 were definitely the highlights for me. I hate that I can finish this in under 6 hours and have to wait another year :(
So much to talk about and I have no idea where to start. This, Rick & Morty, Master of None, You're the Worst and obviously Better Call Saul - TV is at an all time high for me right now. What a time. - The thing with Diane was so heartbreaking to watch, especially since you know they're pretty much doing their best. So relatable at times - Loved the finale, wrapped things neatly up - The puns holy shit - I think my favorite joke this season is Bojack fighting off the lobster things when he was getting the wind vale, and after a pause we see the lobsters slowly enter the frame, walking sideways. That was so hilarious and unexpected. I was thinking before that I was fine with Bojack having 4 or 5 seasons, and that's it. But after watching this season, I realized I'd probably miss it a lot and now I wish this show lasts forever, as impractical as that sounds.
I want to be real for a moment. This show really helped me out mentally, I had a mental breakdown a month or so ago and after a little time, I was starting to get better. I rewatched the series before the new season and I found that I could relate to Bojack mentally. Like with his depression, substance abuse, and his ability to abuse and use others. It made me realize areas I could try and fix about myself and now I'm doing a lot better. This season basically mirrored a lot of things I've been going through without getting into details and it was cathartic to watch. I straight up love this show, few shows can touch it for me in terms of relatability.
I thought some of the writing in the first few eps seemed a bit "off" and heavy handed with some social commentary jokes. I don't remember earlier seasons being so blatant. The last 5 or 6 eps were a lot better though. Left me wanting more which is always a good thing.
listening to Bojack OST. i love that I Will Always Think of You is followed by that kill the fetus song. So strange in a hilarious way.
I love how this show likes to introduce an idea early in a season and then keep on throwing background references through the remaining episodes (Like all the characters dressed as Todd in the latter half of S4)
Another great season, it was nice to get a good ending for Bojack, really thought they would swerve us with him getting a call about his mothers' passing or something, looked like she was ready to go by the end of episode 11, but I'm sure they're gonna break our hearts next season about it instead
Ending was perfect. Looking forward to where this goes next. The Hollyhock is actually BoJack's half sister twist was really well done.
Idk I kinda wish Netflix would cancel this show so it can be picked up by whattimeisitrightnow.com, but I guess this is fine
