Very cool. Looking forward to this. That last CWS album was vastly underrated. Think I'll revisit that and Little Wounds today.

I loved it. One of my favorites from last year, and I enjoy it a lot more than TFIC, which is still very good.

But I generally prefer when bands show some restraint and let the songs breathe a bit.

Cool, looks like he worked with Ian and Jake from Modern Baseball as well as Ben from Tigers Jaw on this.

I like the new song, particularly the bridge part which I think is the most interesting in the terms of sound (tbh I would have liked more of that darker feel, it's what I like about his solo stuff). Not a huuuge fan of the repetition of "balding tires meet icy roads" because it's taken off Emergency Room and it just has more impact in THAT song and I don't think it's that strong as a refrain, but maybe it's because I already know I'm gonna like Emergency Room better lol
Otherwise I like the feel of this, very "dim lit bar in the back end of the Appalachians"-like.

Also interesting that he's finally going for the concept album idea which he'd been more or less doing on CWS's whole discography anyway. Especially since he's said Emergency Room & especially Sinking Stone were personal experiences.

I actually prefer the last CWS album to TFIC.

This is a nice surprise drop before the long weekend.

Bobby has a special quality to his voice that really brings you in. I always thought he was a special singer, same with greg

From the horse's mouth, the only instance of them vocally collaborating is performing together for their grandma's birthday in 2012

yeah, got distracted by the TWY album but this is really fucking decent. Really like what he did with Sinking Stone, especially the whole dropping an octave in the bridge? That rules.
The title track is a jam also. Really emotional. Heavy Eyes is possibly the biggest highlight though, real catchy.

Overall these are some great "really depressed cowboy who's THIS close to ending it" tunes
