Yeah, same. Even though they've only really clicked for me recently, I can't listen to a one off song. Need it in context of an album.

i like it. It wasn't what I was expecting but I'm enjoying the synthwave elements

 

Love this record. Weird and insular and captivating, the speech samples and stuff add a wonderful new dimension to their sound. Continuous mix included in the promo is a blessing.

initially thought "well this seems like familiar territory for them...." then realized I was listening to a different fake leak with old songs lol

partway thru the real deal now, sounding fantastic. it feels like with the outlier of campfire aside, each successive BoC album has gotten progressively spookier

 

One listen in and I think it’s great.

Naraka is sick.

I haven’t listened to them since college so I can’t compare it to their other albums, but it is great. Definitely looking forward to listening to it on the nice headphones.

Also I forgot how weird people are with bands like this. I’ve already seen comments calling it “too commercial” and accusing it of not really sounding like Boards of Canada.

Edit: Into the Magic Land makes me feel things. Awesome track.

Curious to see where opinions on this fall. If the comments on Redacted are any indication, some of you will think this sounds like Christian dance music, some of you will think it doesn’t sound like Boards of Canada, and some of you will think it sounds too much like Boards of Canada.
