There’s not enough of that. People put out double albums and long single albums, but it’s never two at once, like Bright Eyes with I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn dropping the same day. Iconic. The thing is, I think a lot of people work like that but just feel like they’re not allowed to.
Yves Tumor is opening the Toronto shows and this is now my most anticipated gig for the rest of the year. I might even need to go to both nights now.
It's so great, I've been obsessed with it for a bit. Insanely catchy. This is their most recent song, but it doesn't really reflect the rest of their released music. Everything else is much more ambient. This is a personal favourite from last year:
Just finished listening to all four albums for the first time and I liked each one more than the last, I can't believe I waited this long to check him out. His early stuff kind of reminds me of Toro y Moi and the new one reminds me of Blonde. Always love when an artist shows so much range
Last album was good but feels like a huge step up. Took to it immediately. I love that woozy, nebulous feel to it
Saw him in Philly the other night. The show was just wonderful. I was happy he spotlighted everyone in the band throughout the show.
The songs just sound so full live. The sound really opens up and you notice each instrument more, and the complexities of the compositions really present themselves. He also just kills it vocally, super passionate and beautiful. His live band is equally amazing and the attention he gave to each member was heartwarming.
