Still feel strange to anyone else when Tom hypes a future music project you believe him whole heartedly these days
Never heard of Scowl, put the album on today and was like "oh this song is in MLB The Show" lol. Fantasy is on there, I always meant to look it up, but I figured it was a Poppy song I hadn't heard yet haha Anyways great album
This song has entered my category of "bridge through the end of the song is transcendent perfection" along with Timberwolves In New Jersey and Feeling This
I’m psyched to hear it. Curious if it’s a new song or a Skilba era left over. I am sure well get some chatter about it soon. Tom has given Skilba his flowers I’d be curious to hear his take on Feldman.
Would be epic if it was the reworked Skiba-era blink song that was playing when John was recording himself boxing(?)
Cause of what Feldmann said: Freaking Out a Bit is a song I wrote with Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus... I had the concept for a song and a chorus, and they came in and brought it to life! Mark wrote the best verses, and Travis turned the beat around in the bridge, which gave it a whole new life of its own. Those guys are some of my best friends and I love them. So grateful I got to do this song with them I’m so glad it’s finally coming out!
Dig it. Another banger verse from Mark. It’s cool to hear a Feldman song with Mark and Travis in in the songwriting process.
I don’t really dig it but I think it’s just based on the lackluster lyrics and on the nose pop-punk approach. Very “safe” in that regard. However, I love a good Hoppus vocal. Would’ve appreciated a better bridge as well.
After 25+ years of listening to pop punk I can't really deal with that chord progression played that way any more.
You didn't think Travis gave the bridge a whole new life of its own? I do love a good Mark guest spot though.
My comment on the bridge was mostly on the vocals because the repetitive stuff gets tiring and low-effort
Had an itch to hear Turpentine on my walk home last night which immediately made me want to put on OMT again. I think OMT will always be so special because of everything that led up to it. The reunion, the true feelings of Tom being truly back again, the whole new era feels, the coachella "THEY'RE BACK", the Tom new guitar and outfit uniform, the heart tugging OMT music video. It's Mount Rushmore top-4 for me I think.
I still love the first half of Neighborhoods...combine that with Dogs Eating Dogs EP and you have an awesome album.
