I think Tom insisted on it and didn't want so much time to pass between releases. IIRC it was somewhat rushed.

 

To make a long story short they weren’t under a label anymore and Tom wanted to use this EP to springboard Modlife, which lend to more issues with the band and Tom checked out completely and left the band again a year later.

 

I think Mark talked about it in his book a little bit. Tom was adamant about getting something released and it did tie into other stuff he was doing so it felt disingenuous to Mark and Travis.

Was a decent follow up to Neighborhoods, but that whole original 09 reunion era had a stale air feeling about it like they weren’t really there.

 

I cry at the end of “Cars” every single time man.

 

Every time I listen to the bridge, I remember Zane Lowe congratulating Travis on the production and saying, “there are moments where it feels like the album is gonna take off”.

I choose to believe he was referring to that bridge.

 

That bridge of WWWY reminds me so much of TOYPAJ. Especially after jamming TOYPAJ so much as of late.

Tom probably wrote the first riff of the new album and couldn't wait to start the hype train.

 

One can only hope….

Yesterday was 7/11. Mark was wearing a 7 Eleven shirt. So no.

Man… didn’t notice the tshirt and after Tom post I was freaking out.

 

We are not going to hear any news from these dudes for a long, long while.

 

Honestly I’m still riding the high that we got over 20 songs in the last few years

 

27 songs between the two albums! We ate good.

 

Yeah these guys earnt the right to rest for a while haha. I saw Mark in Auckland for his book tour and he seemed very content

 

my prediction is 2028.
