I love Neighborhoods. Most of that is to do with life timing and circumstances, and yeah I never revisit it, but man, nostalgia for that time in my life. First time I heard the part in Kaleidoscope where Tom comes back in with "No reason, no action..." etc. I'll never forget. Etched in my brain.
Dumpweed was played tonight but no idea which song was swapped out as it was still 22 songs. I so badly want to see the different versions of setlist they have. EDIT: Natives was dropped. So it’s likely less than being a different setlist version and mostly a song swap considering the crowd reaction to Natives.
I like Natives, but that's a good swap. The lack of Enema songs was staggering. Now replace "Can't Go Back" with "Stockholm Syndrome'
I never got/get the Can't Go Back love. I know it's one of Mark's all-timers, but I'd take heaps more from OMT's era over that.
Will always have a soft spot for Neighborhoods but its dullness does hurt it. The mix makes it sound low energy and most of the songs also lack the extra punch, in the forms of strong hooks or melodies, I expect from Blink. They got it right on One More Time.
I like how dark Neighborhoods is, but I have to be in the right mood for it. And this time of year is the right mood.
Still on the fence about the shows this weekend. 2.5hr drive and $300 ticket just doesn’t feel worth it for an hour and 20min set after seeing them 3 times in 2023/24 but I may last minute decide to go..
Welp, you convinced me! Just pulled the trigger on a pretty good seat for SPAC on Sunday. Weather looked better than Bethel tomorrow and it was slightly cheaper...
