I really think After Midnight is a banger, but I don’t remember how it did as a single. edit: lol sorry
Lol exactly. There's certainly songs on there that are good but I get an urge to listen to it once in awhile, look at the tracklist and go "ugh this is a slog to get through"
Why you sorry? I’m assuming you just saw my second post on this topic haha it seems we agree! No need to be sorry.
I quite enjoy After Midnight, Snake Charmer, Wishing Well and Kaleidoscope. It's very much a fall album to me cause I played it on repeat during my freshmen year of college so I'm sure I'll be giving it a spin in the next few weeks.
Nieghborhoods came out right as I was entering college so I have a soft spot for that album. It was a "world is my oyster" type of album that still makes me happy. Of course it's not perfect but I hold it in high regard, Natives especially. Hopefully they keep it in the setlist when I see them in Kansas City!
I love Wishing Well, very happy to hear them play it. Even if She Falls is a hidden gem. Call me crazy but Love Is Dangerous is honestly a fun song. Ghost on the dance floor too
I'm trying to get into Neighborhoods (the 8 songs that I find worthy) and it always like catches me by surprise just how bad Natives sounds. It's not even a bad song although it's probably my 2nd least favorite of Mark's vocal deliveries (after that Everyone Everywhere song) it's just hellishly mixed.
Love is Dangerous is the butt of many jokes but I honestly love it. One of my favorites off of Neighborhoods.
I'm really curious to hear how Natives sounds live, because the album mix for it is atrocious. And Mark's singing sounds so lifeless. I would love for Neighborhoods to get a remix/remastered version because it has the bones of great songs but with awful production.
This is a cool take. Let's say instead of an album it was a 6/7 track EP: what tracks would you put on it?
1. Ghost 2. Natives 3. Kaleidoscope 4. After Midnight 5. Hearts All Gone 6. Wishing Well 7. Even If She Falls
Lol this is exactly mine but I love the Hearts interlude so I start my playlist with the interlude and Hearts.
