  1. “Heaven” is very underrated btw

Lots of good info over the weekend. Love that Mark was playing through the album on a stroll and getting excited. Next Tuesday is just fine for me. I'll throw up if we get a single and the album drops in October. There seems to be a couple of months of flexibility with everything so I won't be surprised if it has moved a few weeks out into November. Spicy Mark in the discord is really funny, glad to see him chiming in.

I think I'm missing context but I'm going to assume you're talking about Heaven by AVA and not Heaven by Blink. Though I think Heaven (AVA) is properly rated.

I highly doubt a November release. October is still the call

I hope so! Just leaving some flexibility so my heart isn't pounded into dust if it does happen that way.

I listened through Nine for the first time in a little while. Here are my thoughts that no one asked for.

"The First Time" would be a lot better if Matt only sung the chorus harmonies. His "yeahhhh yeahhhhh" and the majority of his other yelling vocals on this song are what keep me from loving the song.

I still think "Happy Days" sounds like a California song. If it was on California, it'd be one of the mid-tier songs. On Nine, it's still in my bottom tier.

"Heaven" is underrated, and the chorus especially reminds me of +44. This song rules.

"Darkside" is Blink perfection. Mark's pre-chorus "and i wait and i wait..." sounds like it'd be something on TOYPAJ. Love it.

I was a fan of "Blame It On My Youth" since day 1. While everyone was crying about it not sounding like Blink, I loved it more each time I listened to it. I still think it rules and is a fun song.

"Generational Divide" is a fucking blast. Fast punk beat Travis (Generation Divide, Hearts All Gone, etc) is just insane.

"Run Away" is mid tier. It's not one I skip, but it isn't one I go back to specifically.

"Black Rain" is top tier. This song is so good! A great example of Skiba taking the reigns a little bit more than he did on California. "We quiver and quake, we shiver and shake" is such a cool line. And shittttt the last chorus hits so hard. So great!

"I Really Wish I Hated You" is mid tier. Not near my favorite, but I like it enough that I never feel the need to skip it. Matt's "won't you say something" bit at the end is really nice.

It doesn't get much better than "Pin The Grenade." This song's only flaw is it isn't 19 minutes longer. It feels like a solid bridge between TOYPAJ Blink and Untitled Blink. Kind of like "Here's Your Letter" or "Everytime I Look For You."

"No Heart To Speak Of" ... I mean come on. Top tier. Skiba-182 at its finest. This song alone really makes me daydream about what a Nine follow up with Matt would have sounded like. Even if Tom had come back during that time and they continued as a 4 piece for the follow up, I really think it would have been magic. Especially if they'd had another producer take the helm for the next one.

"Ransom" is mid tier. It's obviously two song ideas mashed together, but it's fun and it's hard to not love a song where Blink goes full speed.

"On Some Emo Shit" is mid or bottom tier. Never been big on this one. It's fine. Travis' drumming on it is cool. And I like the instrumental-ish big ending part a lot.

"Hungover You" is a banger. Mark's tongue roll at the beginning cracks me up every time. This could have been a +44 song too, I think.

"Remember To Forget Me" is cool. But it kinda gives me California Deluxe vibes. I wish they'd taken out the acoustic guitar once it goes really big at the end. That's always bugged me a little, hearing the acoustic strum over such a huge sounding part.

I only thought something would happen this week because Tom specifically said DAYS next to WEEKS. But nah, it’s another week.

Going into the Skiba era I did not think I was going to like his contributions as much as I have. My top 3 songs from that era are all Skiba-led.

EDIT: Also weird we never got to hear that blink song that was playing in the background of Feldman's boxing video.

All good thoughts. I have come back to NINE a bunch this year. I wish the Feldman songs were the album with 2-5 more songs from him. Then NINE Deluxe was all the co-written songs plus the songs we never got to hear where they just went wild in that direction (Put miley in IRWIHY, get the rappers on tracks) I love the songs we got, but it always plays like a Frankenstein album of ideas cobbled into one release to me. It is the only blink album I find myself thinking about more than enjoying whenever I put it on.

MxPx's latest album makes waiting for new blink fairly easy. And that's not a knock against blink.
