Damn, that is a blast from the past!

Sometime in 2004 I remember blink being interviewed and they said they had just been working on a new song for their post untitled record. A few years ago I spent a good half a day looking for the recording of the interview but I never had any luck.

 

Wonder if they were talking about Another Girl Another Planet.

Was that song not done purely for meet the barkers?

 

I’m sure it was but since they recorded it and eventually released it on the Greatest Hits album I’m assuming they would have thrown it on the new album to cross market it with Travis’ show.

Now with Taylor Swift releasing the re-recordings of 1989 on 10/27 - you'd have to think that date would be out the window for a new blink album... which would have been a great bday present. So now early-mid-October or bust!

 

I had the same thought. I almost wonder if they were planning on Oct 27 originally, but then learned that Taylor was going to be doing that date, so they had to divert a little.

I have a gut feeling this is going to be a January 2024 release. Ever since things were diverted with the 6/2 song and whatnot. I just don't think there's enough time for promotion lead-up for an October release at this point.
Obviously I am going off of a feeling and have no idea what I'm talking about.

 

Yeah I'll be pleasantly surprised if we get the album this year at this point

No idea about their earlier ones, but all the three post-reunion albums were announced around two months (or even less) before release.

Yeah, I think they'd be just fine releasing one new single and announcing the album release date for October. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

 

It's a different day and age... you don't need 2 months of build up/promotion any more.

 

If we get no news this month, I’m guessing it will be a 2024 release. I just hope we don’t have to till Spring or Summer.
I’m curious what caused all the delays though? Obviously they had plans for an earlier release.

 

It was that dang Travis thumb injury that sparked this whole dang thang.

 

best part of the neighborhoods article was the part about mark announcing on google+ lol.

Pretty sure Untitled was a short lead up time too. "Action" was included in a Madden game that came out in August, then the official single/music video came out with the album announcement in October, and then the album came in November.
