Holy shit…I just remembered Untitled turns 20 this November. I can’t believe it!

I’m definitely going to reminisce hard over the next few months about that time period. Cheetah videos, tv performances, demos, guitar play throughs of the album, and I’ll end with the mtv album drop the night before the original release date haha.

Hopefully they do a 20 year reissue. I still need this album on vinyl.

 

I saw Tom at O’Hare on Thursday. Never been so starstruck, he is very tall!

 

Saw a blink tribute band last night. They played all of Untitled, Not Now, WMAA, ATST, and Dammit. They were pretty good and it was cool to hear those Untitled deep cuts played live, even if it wasn’t the band themselves.

 

Did you ask him where the new single is?

 

New album is being reviewed by the CIA. He’s not at liberty to talk about it.

 

Isn't Matt Healy like... A terrible person?

 

I keep meaning to ask that. I never got into the band so I don’t really know anything. But I’ve seen posts saying he is a Nazi of some sort and then others don’t seem to have any issue and I don’t know what the truth is.

 

Nah he writes good songs that’s all

 

Matty Healy can be a childish dickhead but he generally means well and is most certainly not a nazi

 

Hasn't he said some racist shit about the Asian community?

 

Ooh we get to talk about Matty Healy, slay.

Okay, so: Matty went on a podcast a few months ago, where he:
-Joked that Ice Spice might be one of the "Inuit Spice Girls" and then did a bad accent that offended basically everyone cause no one could tell who he was trying to imitate.
-Told an anecdote about getting caught watching interracial porn that featured "black women getting brutalized"

He's also:
-Did a Nazi Salute on stage in order to mock Kanye West a few months back.
-Made some weird comments about how there's more misogyny in hip-hop than rock
-Made some weird comments about how aetheists are more opressed than muslims.

So uhhhh, he's a dumbass, but he's not like a crazy reactionary or anything.

 

Okay, that’s what the Nazi thing was. I only ever saw a clip and thought there had to be more to it. It was so weird. Thank you for this context.

 

I bumped in to Tom watching Sylvan Esso yesterday. I was standing like five feet behind him and he noticed I had a To The Stars shirt on. He walked up to me and gave me a hug I was dying on the inside haha. I’m still in shock it happened so awesome.

 

Shoulda been all “who are you what are you doing”

 

That would have been hilarious. I didn’t even have time to think I was like holy shit he’s going to hug me. Then he said we’re fuckin changing the world man.

Definitely not the album art. But it’d make a decent replacement one for your iPods if you don’t like the actual cover haha.

Really hope we get some signed album options for whenever additional preorders/announcements go up.

 

Signed albums have never resonated with me unless I met someone in person and have that memory. I've never had the temptation to spend more on a signed album that's only shipped to me.
