But then reality slaps me in the face:

 

Yeah I'm not anticipating until blink-182 day (merch drop) or the end of this second leg.

Completely mind boggling to think back to October and fully believing we'd have a new album by now already. Definitely not complaining, I'm very happy they're taking their time with it, I just think it's wild how I had played it out.

My guess is at this point edging isn't on the album, but rather a bonus track at most.

 

If/when they start doing press about the new album, I wonder if Mark's gonna say something like "We recorded 40 new songs for the album, but the album will only have 12 songs on it." And then Travis will say "My favorite song didn't make the record." And then on Mark's Discord, a bunch of people will ask "Are we every going to hear the other songs that didn't make the album?" and he'll just respond "No."

 

I'm 99% positive "Edging" will be on it. If it hadn't been as popular as it is, maybe not, but I think they'd be crazy to not put it on there.

 

Not sure how streams/sales are truly counted, but if Edging is on the album, does anyone know if the streams to date get counted in the first week album sales? If so, makes sense to keep it on the album.

They are 100% putting the single they play every night and got a very long strong reception on radio on the album. I don't think they are all too concerned about how long the single has been in the world. Still think it is rad they did drop such a strong single with the reunion announcement.

Covid was a big factor but Tom had a couple of AVA songs out for a year + on the last album.

 

Maybe the album would have been out sooner if it wasn’t for all the hipster vinyl collectors out there.

 

lol didn't stop them from posting pre-orders in OCTOBER. That is still the funniest part to me of this slow drip of announcements.

 

Mostly wanting the record out in Fall / late fall 2023 because I know even if it comes out in December it will be my number 1 album on my Spotify unwrapped for 2023.
