Sometimes I buy the band's shirt at their show and put it on right there and then.

I've changed my mind, no shirts of the band that you're going to see AND you also have to cover any tattoos of that band you may have #punkasfuck

Only if it’s pulled over your original shirt and it remains completely visible and is a clashing color.

I thought the whole “no shirts of the band you’re seeing” thing was just because you’re there at the concert so obviously we all know you’re a fan so you wear a shirt of another band you like?

I don't usually say things like this, but the only people who care about that shit are losers.

Wear what you want, when you want, and fuck anyone else's opinion on it.

For a long time, in the more DIY/club level touring, bands liked seeing the bands that presumably their fans or people in their general landscape repped for touring purposes, names to know, and just generally having an idea of what people like. Things like that that could help inform bands a little bit. In today’s streaming and social media world that probably matters a lot less. It also matters less at a massive arena show.

I'm stunned. That actually sounds logical, although it doesn't explain why anyone would be on someone's case for not complying.

Still, I asked for a reason, and I can't deny that you provided.

    Simple:

    1. If you wear the shirt of the headlining band, no one will notice or care, because everyone else likes the band too, and there are probably people wearing more rare or interesting merch. It's tantamount to wearing an "I like breathing" shirt, not much of a conversation starter.

    2. If you wear a different band's shirt, or the shirt of the opening band, it'll be more gratifying when/if someone compliments it, because it's unexpected.

  16. It gets really weird in this thread sometimes lol

Sorry, I think you missed the point. I'm saying there's no good reason for someone else to be mad at you for wearing a band's shirt.

If you're choosing not to do it because you're fishing for compliments, that's something totally different and unrelated to the conversation.

    Here's my ranking:

    1. Headliner shirt at headliner show
    2. Support act shirt at headliner show
    3. 2:15pm timeslot band at festival shirt on day of festival
    4. Previous tour shirt of same band on a different tour
    5. No shirt at all. Pop that shirt off and blast those nips
    6. Buy shirt from merch stand and have girlfriend/wife wear it over her shirt for safekeeping while you mosh

They’ve done that a number of times before. They did that in 2016 here with Skiba

They did it back in 2001 as well. They also used to do a slow ballad version.

  25. I thiiiink they’ve done it at almost every show of this tour so far, haven’t they?
