It’s clear that blink was teasing 6/2 for the Bloc Party ft. Kennyhoopla song.

 

I'm still holding out hope but its' fading fast. I'd say the chances are low for Friday if we don't hear anything today.

 

Just a thought, with the Foo Fighters releasing their album on Friday, could that have made Blink change dates for the single and album announcement? I would think they would want to make a splash and not risk getting overshadowed with another big release, especially one from the same era and some overlap of the fanbase.

 

Why are we assuming there will be an announcement? The 6/2 easter egg and all the links to pre-save music could have been it. Their entire campaign with 182 industries was focused on rumors/word of (internet) mouth until the announcement video dropped. I say they're just going to release it on friday without a tease/announcement.

 

I have never seen so much hype and pessimism at the same time as I do in this thread lol

 

If this wasn’t the digital streaming age I’d say you may have a point. But these days this is less of a concern with how much digital media people consume

 

The 6/2 wasn’t an easter egg, which is why it was removed. There will either be a tease/announcement - whether that is today or tomorrow, or it’s likely no longer happening. Just my opinion, obviously, but this is logical to me.

 

It's said "text" for a while now. I texted it like two weeks ago and got nothing back lol.

 

I think Mark is historically pretty averse to people finding out stuff before it's time, so he might have told them to push it back out of spite lol

 

Maybe it was an easter egg... they watch socials... so maybe they put it out there just long enough for people to find/post about and then removed it.

 

With Travis' story, it makes me think they got back from the first leg of the tour and realized the album isn't quite finished yet and are pushing song release/album info back.

I'm in the boat of being fine with them taking their time with it all.

EDIT: Travis' story reminds me a lot of I'm Lost Without You's ending drum sequence

 

That just doesn't sound at all like Blink to me. Why leave the scribble up if that were the case? And if it was intentional, which I personally don't believe for a second, it seems like a huge misfire since it generated not even a quarter of the hype that a proper announcement would and instead the most online fans are left wondering "will they, won't they?"

 

See you guys in 2024 for the album release.

 

I don't think finishing a song or two for an album which comes out in October would change much on the timeline. They likely have the song per month already mapped out and More Than You'll Ever Know is/has been ready.

Losing some faith... the fact they're still recording makes me think maybe it got pushed ;_; Hope I'm wrong and we see from New Zealand/Australia tomorrow morning the song is out.

 

Blink will never be a ‘see from New Zealand’ band. Their stuff gets global released at the same time

 

I don't even see the fun in guessing at what they'll do lol. I want the music but this is all so pointless
