Oh gotcha! Really wish they'd play "What Went Wrong" again at some point though lol

 

Went last night at Barclays, first time seeing Blink since 2013 (first time I saw them was '99 with Silverchair and Fenix TX). A few thoughts:

- Both Turnstile and White Reaper are tighter bands than Blink IMO
- Turnstile, in particular, first time seeing and they are indeed worth the hype
- Why doesn't Mark sing any of the harmonies on "Anthem Pt 2" live. Isn't that the whole point of the song?
- "All The Small Things" is basically a standard at this point, incredible energy
- Love how Tom hams up the "Where are you?" part of "I Miss You" given it's been riffed on so many times
- No wonder those GA tickets are so costly/hard to get, the way the stage is set up you can probably only fit 500 people in there
- Tom did a nice job on the California songs though given the sound, I don't think he actually hit the Skiba notes yet the crowd carried him
- Fun time all around but not sure I'll go back for a second leg

 

Perhaps he does this every night, but I think it was during First Date or All The Small Things at the CLE show where Tom did a little breakdown and walked around stage making fun of himself and said something like 'I see what you guys say about me, I see all the memes' and then he said 'WHERE ARE YEWWW?'

My buddy got tickets day of for Brooklyn last night for $40. They checked to see what seats were open on the floor and two songs into the blink set walked down to the 5th row on the floor and the security let them by. Planning on scooping tickets day of in Denver.

I cant believe how insanely high tickets are for these shows.

Ed Sheeran and Kim K at the show last night? Must see tour.

 

I'm not into Turnstile at all - I've tried and tried and just can't do it, but I'll happily admit that they were an insanely tight, powerful live act.

 

Huge Turnstile fan and thanks for saying that and recognizing their talent. It's been a bummer seeing the crowds just not being into them, but I do get it. The overlap of the fanbases isn't quite there, but at least they're getting paid generously for this tour!

 

I feel like Turnstile being the opener is like what puts this tour over the edge for me and why I'm trying to figure out some way in hell that I can somehow make it to a stop. I listened to them so much last year before I even knew blink would be reuniting (much less with a highly improved live show, new music, new attitude, etc.) So the fact that I might miss the two of them touring together is constantly nagging at me lol.

 

Did you guys know that All the small things is a stable song for bavarian beer tent bands at smaller fairs and Oktoberfest? Growing up in Bavaria this was already a thing in the mid 2000s, but still goes on today

 

It's one of the most iconic songs in modern music history at this point.

The show last night in Brooklyn was sick. Some quick thoughts:
- Turnstile killed it, and it was cool to see a lot of the crowd really into them
- Is it just me, or was the sound quality really muddy at points? Even for Blink, although there definitely seemed to be an improvement with their mics halfway through.
- At $250 a ticket this is the most I've ever spent on a headliner show, but my view was fantastic in row 11 of the lower bowl. Seeing the visuals from that viewpoint really made it a cool experience.
- Their quick LCD Soundsystem cover was very unexpected but cool
- We had a bunch of pyrotechnics, and from what I'm hearing this was the first show of the tour to do it?
- Barclays is such a disorganized arena. Walking the corridors in between sets was absolute mayhem.

Also did anyone else take the Q train home? The train hit "an object" shortly after leaving Barclays, and we had to sit in the tunnel for 90 minutes waiting for someone to come in the tunnel and inspect. Didn't get home till 1:30am, and I only live in Midtown Manhattan.

 

We had a few pyrotechnics in Pittsburgh.

 

Oh, no- this is my nightmare! We live on the east side but left during Ghosts (one of my least favorite Blink songs) because they started a bit later than we thought they would and we needed to get the sitter on her way. Haggled with cabs outside trying to charge fixed rate, but I guess we avoided this. Sorry you had to deal with!

 

I would have made the babysitter wait!

 

Mark said the full on fire was implemented at the DC date for the first time

 

I noticed some tiny fireworks going off at some points during the DC show but I almost thought they weren't exploding like they were supposed to lol
