UMass Amherst in 1987 - There was a delivery pizza place called umm..... Avanti Pizza, and a small delivered (free) pizza was $3.50+ tax.

If My room mate and I could scrounge $4 in change together, thats what we would do.

They genuinely seem to be all in. lol I just watched the pursuit of sound doc and Tom was all "I'm trying to figure out how U2 and The Police did it". Seems like he has rediscovered his love for punk and realized "Oh Shit Blink is that for this generation of kids" Loved him jamming to NOFX backstage. My hype for the new record has gone off the charts since seeing them play live. I have to imagine all this energy and excitement is in the new songs.

Same. Not that I really had any doubts after they already had "Edging" ready for release, but the fact that they already knocked out a (seemingly lengthy) album before ever hitting the road just proves they are running things the right way this time.

To collaborate well enough to get an entire album done and then start touring and sound better than ever... It's nothing like the last reunion. I'm honestly sort of proud of them that they were able to get their shit together after all these years and finally get back to doing things that work for all three of them.

I would care more about Tom wearing TTS shirts if he didn't seem genuinely into it this time. Big difference from the first reunion when he was pushing AVA all the time and wasn't even doing radio interviews unless he could simultaneously push AVA lol

I don't doubt he's listening to final mixes this time

    Tom was right.:alien:

I also bought a TTS shirt lol. First TTS thing I own. I have AVA merch and it’s the best quality band merch I own.

I've heard from numerous people who've went to these first blink show's that all the merch is printed on subpar material... so I'm super tempted to just do a TTS haul as my blink merch, because it's at least stuff you can wear comfortably...

Update on my blink venue gift ideas assignment... had a hard deadline of Tuesday morning. They ended up also asking me for fan experience ideas throughout the venue, back of house experience in addition to the gifts for the band.

I sent them a 6 page doc that they were "blown away" with. I don't know if I'll be able to make it to the show as I don't live in that state anymore.. but will send pictures as it comes together or if the band posts anything. Show is next month.

  15. Most of the Blink shirts are printed on Tultex. Wouldn't call it subpar at all. Their tri-blend is nice. Their basic t softens nicely in about two or three washes. Decent cut, runs small to size. I still prefer bella canvas as a blank, but TTS is probably using a similar quality as Tultex, but something like their 502 instead of the 202.

It's true.. I just meant the tour-specific shirts from what I've heard so far. The blink spread at Hot Topic is on crazy nice shirts and super soft, even ones from their official blink website are great. But I've heard that from a lot of bands, that tour merch is not printed on the greatest of stuff, because it's cheaper and you can get it out quicker. But again, all just what I've heard. I hope I'm wrong. Cuz if so, I'm takin the lot!

The shirt I got in Chicago the other night is the super cheap Gildan 100% cotton. I work in graphic design, specifically with t-shirt design and printing. They’re making a ton of money on these. Not a complaint. I was happy to get it. But, yeah, the first thing I told my wife after raving about the performance was that they’re making a (well deserved) killing on merch. Haha.

My shirt has a one color imprint on the front and back. God only knows how many they’ve printed, but here’s what my company would sell those to a client for them to resell or just as the end user if they ordered a modest (by Blink standards) 2,500 shirts:

    Gildan Shirt: $3.45 each
    Printing: $1.77 each
    Screens: $0.02 each
Grand total for one shirt: $5.24

They sold me the shirt for $40.00.

  19. I hate Gilden personally, so stiff and not a great feel, lol and have too many opinions for any normal person on merch

  20. I’m picky :crylaugh: some shirts look so bad and boxy on me and I got burned so many times that I had to learn what I like and what I think fits me best.

Hard same. and this is my point.. I would rather just buy a shirt from Hot Topic on my way to the show, and buy some comfy TTS and HMNIM stuff because at least I know I'm gonna wear it more than once. I get the idea of excitement of the show and wanting to commemorate it, but the older I get, the more I prefer comfort over how cool the design is.

Almost got the duffel bag but it was $80, absolutely nuts their profit margin must be.

  23. Everyone grabbing the new and I’m just the weirdo with the dead bird merch.

Yeah. They suck. They wear and fit as cheap as they feel. And 70% of my clients request them by name. Because, yeah, profits. American Apparel and Bella Canvas are my preferred.
