Guys it’s clearly an unfinished clip… on an Instagram story….highly doubt that’s what they sound like in the end

 

Yeah, I don’t like how the drums sound on this Instagram clip.

But also, Travis’ drum sounds probably won’t sound too far off from that clip. He compresses the shit out of drums these days. The new Avril album is a good example.

 

As a drummer, I do dislike this trend of over producing drum sounds to the point where they sound like electronic drums. Travis always had such a distinct tone to his kit that was unmistakenly Travis.

 

Hopefully there's some pretty prominent guitar throughout the album, but I'd be shocked if the overall mix sounded much different than "Edging" and all of the other stuff he's worked on recently. Loud, compressed drums and vocals, guitar pushed towards the back, etc.

 

Could the drums just be placeholders since he's been injured? Stoked to see that they're still writing but hopefully we get some more news soon.

 

The playlist was posted in Mark's discord and he hasn't said anything about it, just mentioned that's Tom in the song clip and it's a good one.

 

Interestingly, Mark made the playlist private but did not delete it

 

It still could be Blink at Coachella with the way they hyped up the mystery act, they would not have done that for some random 88rising K-pop artist

 

Travis is in Palm Springs right now too....

Can't wait to be let down when it actually ends up being that K Pop singer.

 

the random k-pop artist is at the end of the 5th line, it was the internet that hyped him up lol. Blink could still be a surprise guest, but they are 100% not 1999.ODDS.

 

Might be a hot take but...I'm excited for new blink music!

You realize this is a recording of a recording right? Lol a cell phone video recording a clip is never going to sound good

 

This is my one concern following Nine, MGK's output, and the Avril album. An overproduced blink product would not be to my liking. The fade in drums and shiny guitars are too overdone.

And we've already heard glimpses of that on Edging so I guess that's what we're in for.

 

Hate to be the one to break it to everyone, but Blink, like they have been their entire career, are going to continue to be extremely "produced."

 

They could be on the 2nd weekend of Coachella, giving Travis another week.

 

Sign me up if it's produced just like Nine. Mentioning Avril and MGK in the same sentence with that album is silly.

 

Would actually love if it's just like Nine. The comparison between those three was the drum flare that has been on seemingly everything Travis touches nowadays

 

Nine sounds perfect so i’m in haha

 

Remember seeing Travis play with 1 hand with +44 in 2006. Much different times haha

 

Instead of playing live, they'll play the new album over the speakers in its entirety front to back with no notice.

 

Weird that there’s no Matt Era tracks on the playlist so it can’t be the setlist according to everyone on here
