all drummers are accident prone, it’s part of the deal you make with the devil at the crossroads

You're talking about the man who drummed with one arm.

I’d be more concerned if Travis was healthy for the tour. He needs to be challenged.

The one armed drumming while smoking heaters during the +44 tour was the stuff of legends

Growing up with a father who is a recording engineer, this is the coolest concept for an IG page to me. On a side note, Radiohead and Kendrick album wave arts look so cool lol.
It seems to me the largest and louder the waves are, the more accessible and radio friendly the tracks are. Or in Death Grips’ case, the most intense and angry lol.

Also just had a surgical procedure done on my backend yesterday, so Enema of the State hits different as a title lol

Torn ligament is no good, but I think he'll be just fine before the tour. Plus, how much practice/rehearsal has he ever truly needed..?

  13. yeah, they play to a click anyway, i'm pretty sure, so Mark and Tom should be just fine to practice without Travis while he gets that shit fixed.

Plus any fun transitional stuff between songs or changes during the set can be talked through without him actually needing to physically play

I do think there's a slight chance it could impact a show or two of that Central/South American run coming up in March if they're being super cautious about it. But yeah, it'll probably be fine...

And I really want that first run to happen. I can't recall the last time I was so anxious to see what songs wound up on a set list. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst, TBH. And by "worst," I mean "a typical set list from the last few years but with songs from the new album replacing anything from the Skiba-era except maybe 'Bored To Death'" which is still pretty good."

We’re definitely getting a typical blink setlist + 2-3 new songs after the album is out

    talltomaz and bradsonemanband like this.
  17. especially in those countries they've never been to before, those setlists will be standard, and i can't imagine they'll deviate too much from that unless they do some acoustic stuff in the middle, or swap out a song or two here or there on a whim.

so we're probably thinking it's a no on travis doing his 5 minute drum solo while spinning upside down this year. damn.

If it turns out they really aren't switching it up, I've got some tickets to Boston that I'll be looking to sell. LOL

There’s a lot of energy and excitement for this tour so i’m mentally treating it as the last time i’ll see the 3 of them together. Any more than this is a bonus.

Honestly same. That's the only reason I'm going to be spending ungodly amounts of money on this tour and justify it.

Never know when it's their last.

EDIT: Also worried about the intensity of this tour schedule for where they are health-wise. Tom got sick during the most recent AVA tour stint. That combined with if this rejuvenated "honeymoon phase" will carry them through or if one First Date will set flares off again. That being said, there's a saying about worrying about something that's not even real yet, so I'll listen to my wife about not putting worry where there's nothing to worry about.

This is a very, very long tour, so given this bands history, Mark’s health, and I’m sure a laundry list of other things, I think this is the right way to approach things. You just never know what this band’s future holds

They should hire Baby Josh Freese (Tony Thaxton).
