My guess vinyl orders will go up in like, February or something for an August ship, while the actual album will come out in April or May.

That said, they may also actually wait to release the album after the tour because my guess is 90% of the people who bought tickets to the tour don't want to hear any new shit. I, and this thread, would welcome new music on the tour, but that may not be their thinking.

Vinyl pre-order already went up, you can still get black on the merch site.

    It's been a never-ending cycle for Mark.

Mark: "I don't want to play any new music before an album comes out because people won't know the songs"

Tours Neighborhoods, Cali, and Nine were all smacked in a tour cycle with new songs played before the album came out.

I'm sure they'll be excited about the new music and would like to play some new stuff if possible, but overall, you're right. The vast majority are going just to hear the hits.

But even with that in mind, I would still think delaying the album to late summer would be squandering a lot of the hype from the tour. Who knows.

  7. isn't it mildly interesting that at a band's show, the crowd generally only wants to hear songs they know, but we don't want to hear any repeated jokes from stand up comedians?

I have seen both Jim Gaffigan and Brian Regan live where they do encores and/or last 5-10 minutes of recycled/popular material.

He actually said he doesn’t like to play songs live before they are released because he doesn’t want the first time someone is hearing it to be a crappy recording, not necessarily the actual album.

Neighborhoods Tour started before the album dropped and they only played After Midnight and Ghost before the album was released.

The songs they played before California (BTD, Pool and Bro) and Nine (BIOMY and Darkside) were released had all been released prior to the tours starting so fans had heard the studio version first.

  13. They also played Up All Night and Hearts All Gone when I saw them in early September 2011, but those were already released as pre-release singles at that point, I think.

They were. Up All Night was released in July and HAG on the first night of the Honda Civic Tour aka Neighborhoods Tour.

If Skiba was still there it would be out by March.

I’m just kidding. It would have been out in 2022.

Seriously though, it’s nice to have an assumed timeframe of August. I’m sure there can be a single or two before that if they want. Fans are hungry.

But like how many tours have blink done since 2009 that had a setlist comprised of mostly greatest hits? I feel like the majority audience that wants that has had more than enough chances to see it. If i was blink i would say, great we did that a million times over, now its time to diversify the set a little more for once.

even as a massive blink fan, id be perfectly fine never hearing All The Small Things ever again.

  22. I don’t even think I’d notice if I was at a show and they didn’t play First Date or Down.

I don’t have a problem with playing mostly the hits, honestly, but I just wish they’d play longer sets with a few more non hits added since their discography is just getting bigger.

Going off the Greatest Hits track listing I’ve basically accepted we’ll hear like 10 of those songs every tour. In addition to Edging and Dammit, the majority of the big Enema/TOYPAJ/untitled singles, ATST, WMAA, Adam’s Song, Rock Show, First Date, STFTK, Feeling This, I Miss You, and Down, at least probably aren’t going anywhere. Dumpweed, Aliens Exist, Reckless Abandon, and Not Now feel like they’ll be in the setlist. Maybe some combination of Josie/Carousel/M&Ms make it in. Up All Night potentially. They’ll play Family Reunion and maybe Happy Holidays, You Bastard. That leaves a handful of songs for more wiggle room, maybe a new song from the album makes it in, then a couple older album tracks, songs like Violence or Anthem Pt. II. Bored to Death feels like the most likely Skiba song, maybe Darkside if they dare try two Skiba songs with Tom.

I want a fresh setlist as much as anyone and they’ll skip plenty of my favorites but tbh I’d have a good time with most of those songs and Tom back.

They’ve only played Every Time I Look For You live once? That seems like the easiest non single song to add to the set list with American Pie 2

I feel like they’ll want to get this out in the springtime to build even more buzz, however, this tour’s success will have little to no impact on if a new album in 2023 is released before/during the tour.

A significant amount of people going to these shows had no idea about California/NINE and that blink was even active, and they still got tickets for pure nostalgia for anything pre 2005 lol
