Much like Green Day’s Revolution Radio, if you produced them like their late 90s records, the two Skiba albums would rip. It’s a big bummer for me when both bands add extra sound effects and little filters and slower, spacier sequences to remind me that they will never be fast, messy, and fun again.

Nine has some mid songs, but its highs push it far and away above Neighborhoods, which is just and full album of mid songs at best.

Neighborhoods is way better than Nine. Neither of them are Pinkerton.

  12. I think we can all agree though that "After Midnight" and "Wishing Well" are the best songs on Neighborhoods.

I'm not going to lie, I have a lot of fun making people get all twisted up about California/NINE on the blink subreddit. So many people over there insist that the fans don't like that era and that it was an objective failure that tarnished their legacy.

"The fans" must not mean all of those pretend fans who bought the album and made it go number one. Or all of the people who made "Bored to Death" a number one single in the US (their only one of the decade) and UK (their first ever). Nah, definitely fucked up their legacy despite the Grammy nomination and currently being more popular than they were 10 years ago.

Usually gets plenty of downvotes when I say something along those lines.

  15. haha touche. BUT i think that's the only thing 90% of us can agree with regarding Neighborhoods haha.

I get that music is subjective and all but I personally seriously question your entire life and everything about you if you think neighborhoods is better than nine

Neighborhoods isn't good but it's absolutely better than Nine in my eyes. The most generic pop punk album I've ever heard.

They’re both pretty damn generic, but California more so.

  23. I always assumed "ftfy" was an acronym for "for the fuckin year" which never made sense to me, but half the things people say online doesn't so i just went along with it. until now. what does "ftfy" mean????
