Another issue to point out is the vinyl release. The band/label is going to want this album releasing on physical/streaming at the same time so they get the highest first week numbers possible. No way they're going to release an album on streaming and then vinyl later. They'll lose too many sales from that. If a band like Underoath held back their release for a few months to get the vinyl/streaming figures to be combined, I have no doubt a band the size of Blink would do the same.

With that said, I do think they'll have to have this album wrapped up at the beginning of the year to get the vinyl ready by summer release date. I haven't heard an update on lead times for vinyl pressings lately...

I would love it if we could get another song soon, though "EDGING" still seems to be doing fine on the charts so who knows what they'll do. I got spoiled with NINE when they released a track a month even though that was a pretty strange rollout.

Prefer this rollout infinitely more than NINE. Part of my love-hate relationship with that album was the release of songs and clear deviation from BIOMY when it flopped out in the world. That whole thing was so unusual. Really warmed up to the album front to back this year though.

I’m feeling sentimental at the moment but I am surprisingly okay that Edging is still the only music we have. It’s been great getting this comeback single and then a steady stream of photos/clips of them in the studio. (Although I would obviously love more clips than just Travis drumming!) Feels good and I have higher hopes than I thought I would prior to the announcement.

Maybe February is the album announcement. Like official details, etc etc.

Nine will be the Pinkerton of their discography. Disliked at release but loved with time.

blink is way bigger than Underoath. I imagine they can jump the line at most vinyl pressing plants or pull an Adele and press so many units it forces the pressing plants to put everything else on the back burner but I’m just spitballing..

Is that a real article? Satire? If the latter, it’s wildly unfunny, but I genuinely can’t tell because it’s such a shitty website lol

  15. it's definitely not real haha, but they don't make it super clear because, like you said, it's wildly unfunny.

I think that is true of the entire Skiba era. The farther we get from it the more fondly people will look back on it without the constant chatter about when and if Tom will come back.

To me, it's Neighborhoods. Sleeper of an album. Ton's of criticism on how it sounds, but has some of the best blink songs and is an album that definitely had to grow on me over time. The way I feel about Neighborhoods is the same way I feel about Pinkerton.

I’d actually say Nine is the Make Believe of Blinks discography. People will take extremes of it either being their worst album or one of their best, when really it’s just a middle of the road record.

Make Believe and Nine are the same for me: a few great songs, a lot of forgettable songs, but nothing so offensively bad that I’d rush to turn off.
