Sounds about right to me, but they couldn't publicly announce anything until the right time, so they kept up this appearance that everything is fine.

 

I will never forget I was in the beginning of my senior year of high school when Neighborhoods leaked…was sitting in Algebra II when I saw message boards losing their collective mind over the news. Promptly raised my hand and asked to see the nurse, told her I had diarrhea (truly the only fool-proof lie to ensure you’re sent home), drove home way too quickly to pack a bong bowl, then got just absolutely stoned as fuck before my first play-through of the record on headphones. Highly recommend this method to anyone for consuming new blink.

Not to say Bored to Death wasn’t exciting, but I remember having to go to work an hour before Up All Night got released and I had to work an entire night shift at a pizza place before going home and listening. It was pain.

I was more excited for Up All Night, but ended up liking BTD more.

That said, I'm pumped to be able to bring my (16 years younger) little brother to the Austin date. Blinks Enema-Untitled were the first 3 albums I told him to listen to outside of our parents music, and they had the same effect on him in 2015 that they did for me in 97... crazy cool moment

 

It’s mostly nostalgia for me - but Wasting Time is pretty solid for that era of Blink as well.

 

I had a bigger smile on my face for Bored To Death. The second “and it’s a long way back from seventeen…” hit. I’ll never forget it.

 

I was deployed on a US Navy warship and couldn’t listen to Bored to Death for three days until after it dropped (ship was within cell tower range and I risked the biscuit by taking my cell phone to the upper deck to download…would have happily gotten in trouble for blink). I read the lyrics and had to imagine the song behind it…Up All Night was a lot different, I remember a snippet dropping and then a radio station playing it for the first time (KROQ? Feel like it had to be KROQ). I was at an ice skating rink streaming it in the bathroom on my iPhone 4. What a time to be alive for both.

Hearing Mark and Tom trade vocals in Up All Night was great and felt like they were really back.

Bored To Death was even more exciting because it was something new, but also captured the Blink sound perfectly.

 

Was more hype for Up All Night but Bored to Death is easily the better song

 

I was way more excited for Up All Night and I like it way more than Bored to Death
