I'm in an Italian restaurant right now and they're playing "Chapter 13" by +44 on the overhead speakers right now. Definitely my first time hearing a blink side project in public.

  2. Yeah, but (unfortunately for those of us that remember AP) we know what your judgement includes so ... :ok:

I’d put both Skiba albums way over AVA.

  4. In hindsight, spending my time arguing with someone who voraciously defended George Zimmerman was my mistake, but it sure as hell is something that's stuck with me for years since.

    Yes, it's me

there are bright spots on the skiba albums but I never really connected with them.

i was at Book Club a couple of weeks ago and whoever was in charge of the playlist there really liked early to mid 2000s emo and pop punk lol

I finished Cheshire Cat today on my vinyl discography run since reading the book. Probably first time I’ve listened to it in full in about 5 years.

Carousel - the intro kinda kills it and I think we all agree TMTATS version is the best.

M+M’s - so good. This level of song was ahead of their time.

Strings - so bad they had to do it twice! Buddha and Chesh

Peggy Sue - I honestly thought this was on Dude Ranch when this came up.

Cacophony - this is a great attempt at something “weird” and bending beyond their punky structure they had been used to. I honestly think this song could’ve been reworked into something on Untitled. That’s how out of the box it was for me personally.

Wasting Time - was this a huge single for them? It should’ve been.
    Ben Wah Balls - Classic

Depends - this will forever remind me of my little brother and I screaming this in the car when I first learned to drive. We’d drive around DYING laughing at Tom’s part in the second verse “undergarmeeeeeents”

A fun album and obvious window into what was to come: an even more polished version of this band with even more gripping singles. Fun!

  8. All this Tom but no one’s mentioned the realest one:

I’m embarrassed how many times Golden Showers… has been randomly stuck in my head.

I can not hear any of those songs in my head because I listened to them only once or twice ten years ago.

New World could’ve been a high-mid blink song.

  13. That was the "album" that turned me on Tom in that spot where I was like "uhh... he may have lost the touch." I find that whole collection virtually unlistenable.

I don’t remember a single song off of Tom’s solo album. I think I listened once, and the way that it was handled, or more so presented just felt off. To me it was clearly a man going through a crisis of some sort. That being said, I’m so happy Tom has found happiness and balance and appears to be super comfortable with who he is. It really feels like he found himself.

Probably because he recorded all those songs in like a week to prove to everyone he was ‘working’ on blink songs.

The one positive of that time frame it gave us the music video of Tom walking down the street pushing a shopping cart with a guitar in it that I will never not finding funny.
