I’m so jealous. Not like I’d be able to start it right now anyway, but knowing I could potentially go and grab it early is a hard idea to suppress.

 

About halfway through. Loving it a lot.

 

Anything in here that feels like new information? No spoilers necessary just curious how much of this thing is common knowledge to blink circles.

 

Ummmm not really. But it is hard to recall what was fan theory about things and what has been said in actual interviews from those involved. I’ve been writing down some random thoughts as I read to post all at once. Nothing wild or anything. But definitely get more context around songs like Adam’s Song and Go.

At the moment, I’m in the TOYPAJ era and did learn more about how Green Day treated them and Mark’s POV of how Box Car Racer happened. Nothing surprising, but just (to me) some added to context around things I felt like we knew so far.

They didn’t have it available at my Barnes and noble so bought Deryck’s book

 

Got my hopes up to walk over to the UConn B&N and check (which is like a fake B&N it's only open 5 days a week for like 7 hours) they didn't have it but they'll put aside one of the 2 copies they're scheduled to get in lol

Never cared much if it's signed or not since I have Mark's auto on 5 albums

 

Barnes and Noble near me had a bunch out- snagged one! I just happen to have Monday off- now I have plans for that day!

 

Mine played by the rules and said no until the 8th... :(

 

So, there’s actually a very significant story behind the first two minutes of Violence from this show that’s in the book. I’ll just say, petty AF.

edit: to clarify, the first two minutes is when Tom starts messing with the pedals and such.

 

Just called my local store. They have a few and are setting one aside for me!

 

Finished late last night. It’s a great read. However, if you’re not in a good place mentally, I’d honestly suggest holding off on reading it until you’re in a better place.

Theres not anything shocking or anything as far as what he writes about. But between his parents divorcing, various deaths, broken friendships, the band break ups, his cancer journey, and suicidal ideation, it’s a lot of trauma and dark moments.

An incredible story. Honest and vulnerable. Deeply emotional and moving. One in a million.

I ordered a signed copy a while ago and I got a feeling it’s going to be a while til I get in the mail. I may end up getting the audiobook in the meantime if the release day comes and still nothing

 

Actually that’s probably exactly what I’m going to do as well.

I know this will upset people but I do not think I like this host very much.

 

lol he’s a vibe if you aren’t familiar with him. He gets the best genuine conversations because it’s more like friends talking than a professional pod. Diving in on the pod and hitting barnes to see if Mark’s book is there.
