I'm not sure why I didn't notice this a while ago, but I just realized why the bridge of "All In My Head" feels off to me. They skip a beat at the very start of the bridge. So the first "All" is actually on the second beat instead of the first.

It just naturally sounds like the word "All (in-my-head)" should be the start of every measure, but it's not, so when the final chorus kicks back in, it always felt like it was happening one beat too soon. It made me feel like the bridge and chorus sort of trip over each other during that transition. It was just that my count was off the entire time.

There is definitely a vibe of really unique parts on this release. I personally like it. Gives me the impression they went in and didn’t over think it and utilized the “deluxe” release to get a little weird rather than copy paste or tack on.

I assume this is a bug, but I was gonna order the red bonus tracks LP and the shipping price is.. yikes.

For sure, they went out of the box a little on a few different parts on there (although they did have some really creative, mathematical things on the main album too). Lots a great layering of the guitar and synth parts for nice, big melodic sweeping of chords instead of just power chords. The nice big riff at the end of "If You Never Left" (and that sort of dancehall beat during the second verse). All of "Everyone Everywhere", really.

At least for "All In My Head", I had always kind of thought that bridge was a little bit of a low-point of the song, but now I appreciate what's going on there a little more.

This reminds me of Pin The Grenade discussions lol

Oh yes, it's the exact same thing. Don't remind me. That one still fucks me up even though I know what's going on mathematically.

  8. it works better than the "when we were young" chorus, at least.

I think I enjoy Part 2 more than Part 1 as a whole. Maybe because it’s stil new. Obviously there are some heavy hitters on Part 1, but damn…there’s something special about Part 2 and I can’t put my finger on it.

It’s the opposite for me. I love all the new songs, but I would not switch a single song from part two to the main album.

I already switched out 4 songs for 4 deluxe ones. The songs I didn't care for caused a bit of drag for me when there are so many songs. It now flows perfect for me

Really tried to narrow it down to a smaller cohesive album of just my favorites and still ended up with 14 songs, ha.

The lack of love for FELL IN LOVE will always break my heart.

Anyways, ALL IN MY HEAD makes a great second track following ANTHEM PART 3.

My narrowed down cohesive album aside, I am still listening to all of this in full. Lately I've been starting with Part 2 and then once Anthem 3 kicks in, I'm like "might as well".
