That is a perfect amount of new material. 26 OMT era songs is wild. I almost never go back to California deluxe. I hope this one feels like an EP that fits this period. I look at neighborhoods and DED that way.

Skipped through the set last night. Nice to have this tours setlist pro shot. I hope it stays up.

 

I downloaded it. I'll try to get it up somewhere later today if no one else has.

Hope he’s not counting Cut Me Off and See You as part of the 7.

 

I'd 100% go in with the expectation that the 7 includes those two.

I am really hoping we get an alternate version of One More Time on this Deluxe. The dude that did the Travis Meet and Greet said there was 5 versions of that song recorded and they went with the acoustic version (good decision).

 

I'll gladly take any and all material they feel like releasing. I can never get enough blink - especially considering I never thought I would see this lineup again (much less at the top of their game).

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if that "seven" counts "See You" and "Cut Me Off" and the actual number of new songs is five. They've done that before with California Deluxe.

 

I kind of wish See You and Cut Me Off weren’t on the album and would have been saved for deluxe. They’re killer songs and would have had more resonance if they weren’t put in to boost the sales. I hope it’s 7 new ones, but i’ll take 5. proper EP length which is fine with me.

Have they said if all of the new songs were written post OMT release. Are any of them B sides that didn’t make the album. I would be psyched if we wake up on a Friday and the album is available vs a big tease with clips.

 

I loved hearing Can’t Go Back live last night. Can’t wait for the studio version. There’s a restraint on some of the new material that feels really unique for the band. It’s different than the Classic Pop Punk nursery rhymes, the untethered creativity on Untitled, and the cowriting, capturing really specific hooks and callbacks in the SKiba era.

I hear it in Can’t Go Back, Edging, Dance With Me, and One More Time. They let the songs speak for themselves and don’t add anything. Travis has talked about it in interviews with the shuffle on Edging, having a bunch of choruses on DWM but keeping to ole’s and choosing not to make OMT have a massive outro. The longer this record is out the more I appreciate the big swings and the conscious choices to let the songs be as they are.

 

Love the new track.

 

It still doesn't make up for the injustice done to "Turpentine," but it's progress.

This is a nitpick and doesn't actually matter but I hope if we're getting basically a new EP it has its own name and it's not just called One More Time Deluxe or something. That always looks so ugly in the library

 

It will 100% be One More Time Deluxe. The main point of them even doing this is to milk as much out of this album cycle as they can and drum up Grammy possibilities for OMT. By doing the Deluxe, it's still considered part of the original album and will help them with the upcoming Grammy's because OMT was originally released after last years deadline.
