I got in like 3 hours before doors, so it wasn't hard for me to get up close, even going pee before going down to the pit haha. But like I said before too, the pit section is really small regardless. So I think even if you were at the very back of the pit section, you'd still only be like 15 rows back at most, I'd say. I was shocked at how small that section was. But I will say to try and get between Mark and Tom's side, rather than a side of the stage or the back because they didn't go back there a ton.

 

lastnight Mark said "this is a new song that's going to be on the deluxe album" but didn't give any more info than that. apparently at another show though Mark or Travis said "August."

 

Can't speak for the stadium setup but I went in Brooklyn last year and I was out and about getting drinks/bathroom in between all acts. Pit section was so small it's basically like a photo pit so I had a good view.

 

Front of the pit is WAY smaller this year, looks like. They really need to push the stage back.

 

They did last night. It was a quick "this is a new song off our deluxe album". That was literally all that was said about it.

 

Hearing how small the pit is inspired me to go for a closer seat. I decided to go big for shows this year. Moving forward next year, I’ll probably just settle for whatever and I’ll be choosier on which shows I go to. Just gonna be looking to spend less and not have to move my work schedule around so much as I am the rest of this year.

 

This is definitely the case, though I find it's easier to predict and score something great with Fenway in particular, since they run their own ticketing system through MLB Ballpark.

With them, they kill off the VIP tickets and it takes anywhere from a couple days to a full week before they start popping up in the regular feed. It's random enough that, if you're diligent, it's usually pretty easy to score stuff before all the bots rush in.

I scored a significant upgrade to FOB this way last year, and the box office was happy to just cancel my original tickets, so that was great.

 

Question for anyone who went last night - on Travis' snapchat story there is a clip of banter where Tom is joking about not wanting to play a song and giving Mark some shit for it being on the setlist. It's hard to figure out which song from Travis' snap story and I couldn't find it watching some videos from last night - any idea which song it was? my (un)educated guess is Obvious.

I hope everyone loved the posters for their date, and it’s cliche but this is one of my favorites I’ve seen. That Portland sign is such an icon and a favorite of mine here in the city. As we are starting to think of maybe moving out of the city, it takes on an even bigger meaning for me.
