    SLC thoughts:

Landon Barker was more genuine and humble than I expected. Didn't mind his set.

I've never heard or seen Pierce The Veil before, and really dug their stuff, and I wish
I had their bass players energy.

blink was unreal good as always, and I'm thoroughly convinced Travis is a robot.
If I had a gun to my head and HAD to complain about something, I'd say it would be
to take Down out of the setlist. Maybe put Ghost on the Dance Floor back in that spot.
Down is just SO slow, that it feels like the set momentum steps in cement.
But it was still a 10/10 for me. They still got it. So if you're on the fence, GO!

  4. SLC thoughts (Brad's Version):

About 30 minutes before show time, Mark came out on stage and waved and flipped everyone off, which was a lot of fun.

Landon Barker is basically a pop punk MGK clone, and for what it is, it was a fun performance. He came out on stage smoking a cigarette so I expected him to be pretentious and annoying, but like @artofjosephshelton said, he was actually very genuine and humble, and even mentioned that he was super nervous and shaking. His guitarist with the mullet bugged the hell out of me for some reason though, haha. The band had a little bit of tech difficulties during the last song, which was kind of a bummer for them, I'm sure.

I briefly saw Pierce the Veil at WWWY last year. That was my first time seeing them and hearing anything by them, so lastnight I kinda knew what to expect. The bassist was ALL OVER the place! Dude was having the time of his life and should get paid double for being the hype man as well as having to play the songs. Their sound was really bad from the pit, and I was nervous that was going to carry over into Blink's sound, and I was contemplating maybe moving to the back of the pit rather than the front, just in case, for that reason. But I stayed put.

Blink's sound was MUCH better, thank garrrrsh! I was on Tom's side, and there were 3 people between me and the barrier. I probably could have started at the barrier if I hadn't drank a liter of water in line before doors opened. (Ya boy had to pee immediately when doors finally opened.) But I was happy with my spot. The pit was actually really small which was nice. I don't think there was a bad spot in the pit, so if any of you get there after doors open or after the show starts, and you have GA tickets, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with how close you'll still be.

Tom was right there in front of me the entire night. The stage didn't move at all. It was pretty unreal watching 2024 Tom playing these songs that have inspired me to play guitar every day for the last 25 years.

We got "Obvious" and "Carousel" which I was really happy about. And I will say this... Right when "Down" started, everyone around me in the pit went crazy. So even though it's a slow live song, the general crowd reaction is probably why the band keeps playing it, and so I can't complain too much about that. I'm rather have another deep cut, or "Adam's Song" in its place, but tomato tamatah, Blink is Blink is Blink.

Obviously Blink ruled and it was such a fun night. My voice is gone and my body is sore, but it was well worth it. Especially compared to the last time I saw them, which was at WWWY last year and I was 302,938 miles away from the stage. Hence why I splurged on GA pit tickets this time around. I HAD to be close, after WWWY bumming me out.

I had a couple ???'s about the SLC show though...

1- I wonder why the stage didn't rotate. Although I was not complaining about a good view the whole time.

2- Did you notice how the "I Fucked Your Mom Shirt" wasn't at any of the merch booths?
At least the ones I went to. I wonder if uppity ass Utah was like "absolutely not..." haha!

I have been keeping up with the Landon Barker. Tall order to have never performed live and some of your first shows are arena openers. He seems to be growing into himself as a person and musician. His shows and interviews are way better than where they were a year or so ago. For how bad and derivative it could be, he’s doing pretty great at making his way through being famous. Also all of his stuff is produced by Kevin Thrasher so it makes sense to me it is pretty much an MGK tickets clone. I am sure he will keep pushing his sound over the next couple of years. It does bug me when these newer artists have a track of the vocals playing and sing when they feel like it. I love Kenny Hoopla, but he also does that and it’s a bummer to see.

Was the show loud as shit indoors? Denver was unbelievable loud.

For a loud punk show I am pro indoors from here on out. For an indie band, or casual shows outdoors in the summer is awesome, but this show vs. seeing them at Petco Park in San Diego a few years back is two seriously different experiences.

  17. 1. Yeah it was weird that the stage didn't rotate. Before Blink's set started, it did rotate. But during their set, nothing.
    2. The "I fucked your mom" shirt was definitely in the merch truck outside on the corner of the street in front of the venue. I saw it in there.

If anyone is attending the Fenway show and wants to upgrade their tickets, or still hasn't purchased, they just killed off the VIP packages, which means all those seats/pit tickets will be dumped in the regular pool within the next few days.

Decided to say “fuck it” and bought a second row seat for my show. Hopefully I can sell my other ticket that was much further back. If not, YOLO.

I love that they have songs in the can for a deluxe but my expectations are so low that it will actually be released next month. They love announcing a release and then taking many months to actually put it out.

Brad, was it a struggle to get up close? Or were there a lot of early entry people?

I've noticed this trend with a lot of big ticket shows. VIP packages are ditched last minute and they just sell tickets for standard amount.

Once again, Live Nation punishing the diehard fans who buy tickets early/when they go on sale. Won't make this mistake again..
