I’m all for Tom experimenting in blink just as long as he has someone like Aaron Rubin in the studio with him to say “No Tom ‘Dance With Me’ doesn’t need a 2 minute intro”.

 

I took that comment the same way.

On one hand, I assumed that was him saying that AVA wasn’t going to happen again. On the other, it’d be kinda crazy for him to not have another avenue of creating music. Like, David Kennedy isn’t in blink, and he’s a lifelong friend. I can’t imagine they just stop making music together.

 

It's fine if Mark lets Tom put a couple AVA songs on each blink album. Unfortunately means a perfect blink album going forward is an impossibility lol

 

I truly do not believe David Kennedy cares if AVA ever does another album or tour. He was fine doing his successful coffee stuff before Tom got him back into it.

 

Tom hasn't said a word about Angels And Airwaves since he returned to blink. Aside from posting song throwbacks on Instagram saying he's proud, and maybe a photo or two, nothing.

In the first blink reunion he was very clear numerous times that Angels was a working band with stuff happening, etc.

I don't think AVA are done, I do however think they're very much occasional now. Even moreso than they've ever been.

Tom's not an idiot and he's seen the response him being in blink has brought, with this tour/album and everything. It seems over the last year and a half he's very much aware of where blink stands and what it means for his future, both internally and financially. I know AVA might be good for his well-being and certain parts of his creative outlet, and if he keeps it to the blink downtime as opposed to pretending they can be balanced, go for it.

Considering Tom made an AVA album and a few EPs without Dave Kennedy and he didn’t even get writing credits for Lifeforms I don’t think he’s going to be the reason Tom continues with AVA.

 

Tom also seemed quite done with music altogether before the blink reunion, according to his comments in the Zane Lowe interview. Something like "I told my wife I didn't think I would ever play music again, and then when Mark got sick, that's all I wanted to do". Doesn't really sound like the same Tom who needs a separate musical outlet anymore, but who knows lol.

I do think, if anything, he'll still do some AvA things here and there simply because they have such a huge back catalog and history..... I just don't foresee him having any desire to try to do both fulltime like back in the day though. But like I said - who knows. This band is impossible to predict.

That part of the Zane interview really confused me, because Tom said the same exact thing in 2019 when he resurrected AVA. How from 2014-2019 he didn't think he'd ever play music again, and then AVA did their "reunion" tour and it lit a spark under him.

 

I also want to keep dreaming that they'll one day do a Blink-verse music festival.

 

That would be so cool. A set mixed with blink songs and them bringing out all their friends to play transplants, +44, simple creatures, boxcar racer and AvA songs

 

Eh, maybe not all of their friends.

 

Didn’t Tom only resurrect AVA because To The Stars was bleeding money and it was at the suggestion of his sister who was running the day-to-day that they needed it?

 

Wow really? I’m glad it happened, Lifeforms is one of AVAs best works.

 

99% sure. Someone definitely posted the company’s annual report in here and it was bleak
