I said it in the other blink thread, but I'll say it here, too. Why aren't these Mark heavy songs? If they were, this album could have gone to one of my all-time faves.

Mark is all over this album.

  3. He was saying he needed go back to a vocal coach and learn how to sing again basically from all the chemo he was being pumped with. Maybe he couldn’t physically sing that much? Who knows

I think this album has lots of mark. Otherside? Bad news?

  5. I saw someone do a break down of time on the album and Tom had about 3 minutes more. It’s really even.

I haven't listened to Box Car Racer in probably 10 years, and man....Cat Like Thief could be an elite song with Mark singing the verses instead of Tim. So glad that I am rediscovering this thing.

That Tim Part is legendary, especially when it was released. it was unusual/unlikely for punk bands to feature each other in songs. I love Mark's part on the record, but Tim on that song is a record highlight IMO.

Crushing some mundane admin work today with OMT on repeat. Damn, it's been out a week and these songs feel as familiar as any record in the discography. What a time to be a blink die-hard. Planning on letting it loop for a few hours. So many moments of this album.

I think people just feel like there is more tom because they've been pining for it and pretty much every line he drops on this album kicks ass. When I listen I hear both of them doing what they do best (Tom with hooky nursery rhyme choruses, Mark with strong narrative verses and second-to-none bridges) with a really good balance.

Oof, that may be true, but he is singing like he just got oral surgery 5 minutes before recording.

Some of these stadium shows are gonna struggle a bit if the on sale this morning is any indication.

  22. I'm not sure I agree with whatever definition of "struggle" is being used.

They might be slightly soft given everyone who wanted to re-live their youth and drop $500/tickets may not be willing to do so again. THAT being said, it'll still do better than the Green Day stadium dates (no idea what the fuck their tour manager was thinking booking them with SP and Rancid). Also, it's only Oct so I could eat my words but I think it'll be buyers market for both with the exception of close floor seats.

  24. Again? They're playing a bunch of places they didn't before? And they have a guarantee? I don't get the "struggle" comment.

A lot of people probably traveled for the previous tour. The band has a guarantee, you're right, so promoter might be eating some costs come showtime. It's an older crowd so concession sales will more than make up for it but I wouldn't be surprised if there was papering/giveaways closer to the shows for some of these.
