Kind of a fun thing I'm doing to pass the time til the album, randomizing a 15 song setlist for blink but then finding (through setlist.fm) the most recent time they played those songs live (on youtube). Makes me check out live videos I never would have normally watched and seeing any/all the variations they put on them.

 

It seems like Mark has tons of harmonies on all of these songs that are an octave under Tom. I sort of wondered when the clip came out of him saying that chemo wrecked his vocal chords that he would mostly sing lower harmonies and take a little bit of a backseat vocally out of necessity. But maybe that won't be the case for the rest of the album.

 

Has an answer ever been given if Dammit was ever tracked with Tom on the chorus? Or did that happen organically after a few live versions?

 

From my recollection, Mark wrote it out of his range and wrecked his voice recording it. I think the live swap was out of not wanting him to destroy his voice live.

Haha. I fucking hate the oles as well. Weirdly, even my 4 year old hates the song. I thought she'd love it. She loves More Than You Know. As does my wife.

Haha. I believe you're correct. It doesn't help that we also both particularly hate the song, "Feeling Hot Hot Hot". My kid has never even heard that song, but I've read past trauma can be passed on to offspring.

 

Oh yeah! I may have to do that. I still secretly hold a grudge because one time Jason gave all the staff members the AP.net mug for Christmas but lowly AP forum mods weren't included
