So what's that thing called where you listen to something over and over and over and over again and eventually learn to like it? It has to have a name. Like why are some new songs so immediate and others you immediately hate, but learn to tolerate/love? Are you tricking or training your brain?

I don't know about "learning" to like something, but sometimes I'm not in the right mood or headspace to appreciate something that hits me later, or something gels with me over time. Some things are growers, not showers.

Could be similar to the old "Will Ferrell Effect" - the more you watch his movies (old at least), the more things you notice/the funnier they get.

This song is fine. Pretty firm in wishing it wasn't on the album personally, but it's certainly no disaster like Love Is Dangerous or This Is Home

so what you’re saying is, two albums are Tom heavy and two are Mark heavy. Got it.

Do you only listen to a song once before dismissing it? There are exceptions, but generally that’s weird to me.

The Dogs Eating Dogs EP was Tom heavy as well. The Skiba albums were only Mark heavy out of necessity. Tom taking on most of the vocals again feels like they’re just picking up where they left off.

I disagree. Despite being a lot of Tom, Mark is all over the songs, too. I didn’t feel that on Neighborhoods.

The Skiba albums are split like virtually down the middle, I wouldn't even be shocked if the % actually favors Skiba lol

Idk why people are saying those are Mark heavy

Only guess is that Mark is on literally every single Skiba era song if I remember correctly

You may be right. It may be due to the severe lack of him on Neighborhoods and somewhat on Untitled. It was super refreshing to hear a lot of him.

That helps my point though. I’m saying it’s the most Tom heavy.

Yeah there was definitely too little Mark on those records. I don't mind getting a ton of Tom on this one so much since he's been out of it, but it probably wouldn't sit as high with me since I've always favored Mark since Dude Ranch

    Things have changed.

Give me a few Mark songs, a few Tom songs, and a whole lot of both of them.

so far we've gotten a whole lot of both of them imo

mark's harmonies + vocal interplay on neighborhoods is one of the real highlights of that record, just wanted to say

I def prefer Mark in smaller doses,on backvocals or bridges.
    It’s where he’s stronger.
    Tom is best on choruses.
Like them both on verses, preferably dual vocals.

Yeah I’m loving having both of them on these tracks. That’s the one thing I loved about the Skiba era, so I’m glad they’re sticking with it.

Maybe we should wait for the album to be out to decide if it’s Tom heavy or not?

    Hot take I guess
