Yep I'm avoiding those two songs like the plague

I will definitely check out any new songs they drop before the album releases, but other than a playthrough or two I am going to stop listening to the new stuff. Happy to have the Zane Lowe date. About as excited to hear them talk about the record as I am to hear it.

Damn, I'm going to have to avoid the two new songs and possibly the Zane Lowe interview until after I've heard the record. If I go quiet in here starting 10/13 - y'all know why.

 

Stoked Anthem Pt. 3 is going to be preserved for release day. I know the riff is one of Tom's classics slightly reworked, but it sounds so good. As much as everyone was dying for new music, I am happy these songs are all dropping within a month of the album vs slowly coming out over 3-4 months. When I played all the songs yesterday for the last time until album release they still sounded so new and I was picking out new parts I love.

Damn, this is going to be fun. Another new song in two days, then another song + interview will be out next Wednesday, then the whole album out next Friday. Let's goooo.

Those clips sounded pretty great. It's definitely feeling quite Tom-heavy, but Tom admittedly sounds better than he has in a long time and I'm loving these songs more than basically anything Tom has done in two decades so...

 

Travis has dropped a couple of details in the studio. Seems like they wrote a lot of parts, moved them around and all agreed on what would be best for the record. I feel like Tom just brought the ruckus big time and everyone was hyped.

Fell In Love Chorus is great.

 

Gonna be different getting so much Tom considering Mark is on every single Cali-Nine era song which has to be 40+ tracks

Fell in Love and When We Were Young. (Dropping WWWY so they get a crowd pop for the fest date/song debut) For real though it would be kind of rad if they just play the new record front to back that day.

 

“You Don’t Know What You’ve Got” is the song dropping next Wednesday

 

You Don't Know What You've Got is the second song next Wed. Video is confusing since they preview WWWY though

 

do we still like Simple Creatures or are they tainted by association

Super pumped for the Zane interview. Really enjoy a lot of his interviews and the fact that they are long. Just not sure I want to watch it Wednesday or after I ehar the entire album Friday. Anyone else been holding back on listening to the singles? I obviously heard Edging (a zillion times in the last year) and dabbled with One More Time a handful of times (loved it,) but holding off on listening to any of the other released songs. I want this entire album to feel new. My problem with Lifeforms was 60% of it was released in advance as singles and by the time the album was released, I wasnt too excited cause it only like 4 songs I never heard.

 

I haven't listened to Simple Creatures since whenever the second EP came out. Never been crazy about Alex as it is and the ATL stuff def doesn't help
