I've never personally seen them play "The Party Song" or "Anthem" so that'll be pretty cool.

I'll be much more excited if they play all of TOYPAJ in 2 years.

 

Hope they do this at Riot Fest as well. Shit would be so rad.

To be fair, it's not even an issue with the amps-- his tech guy just seems really uneducated on gear--

For example, they don't mic up cabs, they DI the signal-- when asked how the get a cab simulation in Tom's rig rundown he says "Uh, the sound is going straight through the amp circuitry, so it's still getting that vox tone"

Then Tom also runs cheap distortion pedals into these classic clean amps and it's just so bizarre sounding.

Damn now I want to go to back to the beach fest but I’m already going to a show the day after. I work at a movie theater so I doubt I can get the entire avengers weekend off lol

-the backing track that Tom uses is very apparent at some points
-Tom looks super pissed Mark snuck “First Date” on the setlist which further proves Tom hates playing that song
-hearing Down reminded me of writing the lyrics on a note to a girl in high school passing it off as my own poem
-Mark’s bridge in Stockholm is sadly how it’s gonna be from here on out
-the banter is great
-the crowd awkwardly claps so offbeat during the beginning of Violence which leads me to the tangent of crowds always clapping offbeat/speeding up

Overall great video, thanks for posting. I saw the show that happened two night after this and I swear Tom sounded perfect.

Probably. I do remember hearing it at soundcheck that night. It also didn’t help that was I surrounded by hundreds of people losing their minds to blink. The overall experience pushes it to the top with goodness.

 

The backing track is so painful on "Not Now" especially. What do you think they were thinking???

"The crowd's gonna be screaming so loud they won't even notice!"

And then someone in the room was thinking "But it's going to be super noticeable on YouTube since we're sending the audio directly to the soundboard..."

 

Yeah Tom getting mad about First Date at blizzcon, the Mark songs on untitled being replaced with the hits and the setlist since Tom left definitely makes me feel like Mark is the one pushing for greatest hits setlists

 

That would actually make sense... I feel like Tom always sabotaged that song one way or another. I mentioned this before but there was one show on YouTube where Tom is doing his metal growling voice during the pre-chorus and Mark does a visible eye roll. haha.

 

Lost Without You is the worst in that aspect. Like they aren’t even trying to hide it.

 

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. I try to forget it regularly.

It's like really bad bar karaoke where the DJ doesn't have the instrumental version of the song you want to do so you drunkenly beg him to just plug in your phone and you'll "take it from there"
