I've been listening to a lot of +44 these past few days

There's a very interesting thread going on over at blink-182online.

If you don't want to read through the whole thing, here's the thank you insert from the Buddha cassette tape. And speaking of the Buddha tape, I guess there's some drama that went on in the early days between Blink and the guy who paid for and released the tape, originally.

Always cool when oldschool Blink fans/friends come out of the shadows with their stories.

 

I did a lot of driving this weekend and played through the new Simple Creatures and NINE a bunch.

I love Simple Creatures and think they will keep getting stronger with every release. NVM, Special and The Wolf are up there with the top tier songs on NINE for me.

I love NINE and still think it is their strongest release since they reunited. I definitely find myself skipping Happy Days, and Remember to Forget Me. I also have been feeling like the Choruses are some of their strongest ever but the verses and bridges on this album aren't equally as strong. Compared to Violence, Feeling This, or even Bored To Death where every moment in the songs are compelling and interesting, I feel like some of these don't bring that same energy. I think this is an album of growth and exploration and I am very hopeful the next album takes everything great about NINE and brings us the fully realized version of this era of Blink. Does anyone else feel that on this one? Again I love this record so much and it has given me a lot of hope for the potential to continue growing and crushing, it has just been an observation a few weeks into heavy rotation.

not huge on "Remember to Forget Me" either tbh. Matt is so close to batting 100 across the whole thing and then he hits us with "we both made a left, it don't make it right" on the very last song. I'm still fuming ngl
