“I Really Wish I Hated You” has been stuck in my head for the last half hour.
Any chance since this leaked the band just throws it in streaming tomorrow? Lol
Also wow they suddenly sold out of a ton of preorder bundles today
Pin the grenade might be my fav song of theirs on this or California
See Kevin??? Leaks are good!
The lack of Run Away on all of your lists makes me wonder if I have the wrong album. So good.
This used to be the strategy when records would leak one or two weeks early but they seemed to have stopped doing that fullstop.
I liked all the singles but I’m still confused by them releasing BIOMY as the album’s first single.
Ahhhh okay holy fuck. Just listened to the album.
It has genuinely shocked me how much I’m into this. Songs like Heaven are what I envisioned adding Matt could do for this band.
Maybe Friday if anything
Mark's part of the Run Away chorus is so damn strong, one of my favorite things he's done in a long time
First Time is so fucking good, the ONLY thing I don’t like about it is that “yeah yeaaaaaah” at the end of the chorus. But the song is so good I’ll move past that
Halfway through and Im loving what I hear so far, especially from Skiba!
Now that I've listened through a few times I can confidently say this album is fucking awesome. Can't wait to get that splatter vinyl in the mail and spin it on my turntable.
Top 5 after first listen:
No Heart To Speak Of
Pin The grenade
Caved in... Listening now.
I really don't like the opening lyric of Run Away but the rest of the songs great.
I’m going with... Pin the Grenade (first verse is still frustrating af), Run Away, The First Time, Hungover You, I Really Wish I Hated You
Love the song, hate the title haha
With the exception of Darkside the singles are the weakest thing here. That said I really enjoyed all the singles.
The First Time
Blame It On My Youth
Pin The Grenade
On Some Emo Shit (wish it had a different title)
I Really Wish I Hated You
Still need to spend some more time with Remember To Forget Me
Me after my first listen:
I legitimately think that California is a mostly horrible record (especially the song writing, and the guitar work), and didn't think the band could release good and/or interesting music without Tom.
I was 100% wrong. I'm shocked at how good this record is. The diversity, production, overall songwriting is all terrific. Still not a huge fan of the singles, but there are at least 4-5 songs that deserve to be played live and will end up being top-tier Blink.
Amazing how wrong many of us were.
